A low thrumming emanates forth from the edges of the portal before you, its hum as hypnotic as the form that hovers in the sky on the other side. Unbelievably, its form is that which has been recounted endlessly among conspiracists and pulp fiction tales alike - a circular starship with sides that flare gently outwards to form the shape of a saucer. On the horizon, you can make out a cluster of huddled figures seemingly caught in its wake, similarly enthralled as yourself by this perfect specimen of a classical alien craft. Will you venture forth and discover the truth behind these age-old tales and uncover the identities of those that have for so long walked AMONG US? 6FOOT6 & VERSCHALLT join the VISION SERPENT roster with their latest single AMONG US, featuring additional remixes by Roman Adam & label head David Phoenix. The pulsating rhythmic core of the title track opens the release with undeniable presence before its message is reinterpreted by David Phoenix, who pushes the title track's character into electrified and overdriven tonalities. FLYING SAUCER then follows with the mysterious levity of its namesake craft, which is then transformed within Roman Adam's remix into a retrofuturistic soundscape that appropriately soundtracks such a storied vessel.

Japanese producer Hiroaki Iizuka has been releasing music since the turn of the century. After several efforts on imprints such as Symbolism, THEM and Nheoma, - as of now - the Hokkaido based hardware aficionado turns to Rotterdam's Self Reflektion with a package that's filled with thoroughly arranged sequenes and deep gritty drums. "Primitive Spirit EP" consists out of 4 tracks that merely exist out of rhythmic alternations and syncopated synth patterns that heavily display the use of hardware equipment.

For the initial a-side effort "Opto", Hiroaki' cleverly uses deranged synth bits and a vary of subtle effect strains to exhibit an ominous atmosphere. The sophomore a-side endeavour "Vertik" proves to be an almost frantic thrill that should be suitable for both late night club settings and purposeless city walks. 

For the b-side opener "Primitive Spirit" Hiroaki shows his versatility by turning a bit more audacious by coming up with a tumultuous drum frenzy thatis balanced out by spacey FX washes and processed hats. "Drum unit" is the final cut that somewhat hints to traditional Rotterdam techno. Due to the latter and all it's versatility, "Primitive Spirit EP" is the right record for Self Reflektion. The image displayed on the A side is sketched up by Rotterdam based Mate Pavic​.

CRG011 sees the long awaited return of Wrong Assessment. The A side see's host to stripped back, heavyweight, dance-floor rollers. 'Endocrine Response' will have you descending into a subtle trance via its scattering hi hats and brooding synth work, while 'Neurotag' is all about the contrast between the groove and the ever rising minor note, which continues even through breaks in the rhythm, yet drops off without a trace as if it were never there.

The B side continues this theme of mind-bending synths and kaleidoscopic drum work, albeit with a noticeably tougher attitude. 'Virtual Hand' is certainly a peak time hitter, with nods to Mike Parker and Abdulla Rashim in its own unique style. On remix duties for 'Virtual Hand' is another Clergy favourite, Kmyle. He takes the track in a darker direction, moving more towards a sense of dread and frantic despair with nervous hats, claps and snares. 

Those buying digitally will have access to an extra 5th track, 'Ganglion'. It continues the narrative of the record, but with more focus on the driving rhythm and agitated, almost random, synth stabs.
