In this track, the cultural mix and the influences of Berlin's electronic scene meet the experimental rhythms of Brazil. The voice of Berliner artist Kotoe and the beats of Brazilian producer Meraki come together in this cover-style version of one of Brazil's most famous songs.

The remix was inspired by the song "Tic Tic Tac", a composition by Braulino Lima that became better known when it was released by the Amazonian group Carrapicho, becoming the number one hit in various parts of the world in 1996.

__The Artists:

_Kotoe: @kotoek 
She was born in Japan, spent a great part of her life in Brazil and currently lives in Berlin. The cultural mix and the influences from the Berliner electronic scene are the result of her musical work where she takes textures from the Asiatic culture, South American sounds and mixes with dark beats and her own voice.

Her arrival in Berlin in 2015 made her fell in love with electronic music and to get involved and active in several collectives. Kotoe already presented herself in countries as: Japan, Chile, Germany, Croatia, Austria, Portugal and she was included in line ups from festivals such as Garbicz, Katzensprung, Moyn Moyn, Artlake and Melt.

_Meraki: @meraki4
Pedro Sugiura was born in Brazil and has his musical base inspired by the rich diversity of rhythms from his continent, always seeking to transmit this energy to the dance floors. Currently living in Amsterdam, Meraki has a unique identity and a very energetic sound.

This remix was inspired by the samba "Faça Como Eu", a composition by Brazilian artist Miltinho who was one of the most influential composers in Brazil in the 60s. This new version created by music producer Gustavo Caram together with producer Lezoman presents a mix of modern rhythms that lives up to the original track.

Vini Campos, also known as LOV.ini, is a DJ, producer, and musician, and one of the people who started the Garage Disco collective in São Paulo, Brazil. Vini is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and he played the viola with the Young Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra until 2003. After moving to São Paulo in 2004, Vini went back to being a DJ. His upbeat edits focus on Brazilian music, mixing disco sounds with classical and synth influences and switching between nu-disco, house, and African rhythms.

Rodrigo Fonseca (aka Nirso), got his music degree in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and spent more than a decade playing with bands, musical groups, and also DJing. Nirso started making remixes and edits in 2014 so he could play all the South American, Latin American, and African music styles he had discovered. Not long after that, he began creating and making his own music, combining his different musical backgrounds with electronic beats, digital percussion, space synths, and deep bass.

“The idea behind this selection is to bring back little-known versions of hits re-recorded by Brazilian divas. Female vocals, classic drum machine beats, and the texture of vinyl rips set the tone for this powerful compilation, filled with unbeatable dancefloor edits and reworks.

The contrast between female vocals and the heavy beats of classic drum machines has always captivated me. In my aesthetic obsession, I stumbled upon versions of hits interpreted by Brazilian singers from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. My challenge was to add punch and movement to meet contemporary dancefloor demands while preserving the original sound of the music. I focused on the steady, punchy kick drum of classic house music, along with the percussive elements of disco music and Latin rhythms.

The spark for this compilation was a discovery made during an afternoon of digging in São Paulo with Lucian Fernandes. The track we found was "Ela Dança Como Nunca Alguém Dançou," a version of 'Maniac' by the group Harmony Cats. The version was already great but needed some adjustments to fit smoothly into a set. Just one night in the studio with Beno was enough to create the first edit for this selection.

Lucian also contributed two other gems to the EP, 'Eu Vou Te Amar,' a version of 'I Will Survive,' and 'Sou Sempre A Mesma,' a version of 'Smooth Operator.' Another nugget for the compilation was 'Eu Queria O Seu Amor,' a version of 'My Cherie Amour,' rediscovered by Bossa with an acapella for us to play around with.

The other songs were YouTube finds, but after treatment and edits, they became as special as the physical rarities, hitting the dance floors perfectly.”

Harmony Cats - Ela Dança (Paco Cabana & Beno Nasty Mix)

"Brasil" is a timeless anthem that captured Brazil’s political transition, originally dropped by the legendary Cazuza in '88 on his Ideologia album. Back then, Cazuza wasn’t just making music—he was making statements, challenging the political system and the media at a time when the country was emerging from dictatorship.

Later that year, the incredible Gal Costa took "Brasil" and flipped it, blending samba and rock to create a powerful version that became an instant cultural and political icon.

Fast forward to today, and we’ve got Ramiro Galas paying homage to this classic in his own unique way. His version brings that deep Miami Bass groove while still keeping the heart and soul of Gal Costa’s powerful vocals alive.

In VP Leone’s edit of "A Cegonha Me Deixou Em Madureira," we’re treated to a fresh reimagining of Jorge Ben’s unmistakable sound, deeply rooted in the rich traditions of Brazilian music. Ben's work is a cornerstone of samba rock, a genre that blends the syncopated rhythms of samba with the energy of rock and roll.

This track bridges the gap between MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) and bossa nova, two quintessential Brazilian styles. The unmistakable guitar work from the original track, a hallmark of MPB, is carefully preserved, while VP Leone’s production leans into contemporary nu-disco aesthetics, adding a smooth bassline and polished reverb that elevate the track’s atmosphere. This fusion of old and new underscores Ben’s innate ability to create timeless music that thrives in various musical contexts.

Leone’s edit also taps into the balearic beat genre with its laid-back yet immersive vibe. The remix emphasizes melodic flow, drawing on funk carioca grooves while subtly incorporating the syncopation of Afro-Brazilian rhythms. A track born on the road during a journey across the vast landscapes of the United States, inspired by endless horizons and late-night vibes soundtracked by the unmistakable voice of Adriana Calcanhotto, the legendary Brazilian singer-songwriter. Portuguese artist C4STRO dives deep into these moments, revisiting a time when Adriana’s music was his biggest connection to Brazil.

The result is a powerful reimagination of "Maresia," a track that preserves the essence of the original while injecting a modern, dancefloor-driven pulse. It’s poetic, soulful, and carries the kind of vibe that lingers long after the music fades.

On this compilation, Portuguese producer C4STRO folds Brazilian classics into the language of contemporary club culture. Drawing from icons like Jorge Ben Jor, Marisa Monte, Rita Lee, Seu Jorge and Toco, the Lisbon-based artist reimagines MPB, samba-rock and bossa nova through deep, groove-led frameworks that feel equally at home on the terrace at dusk or deep in the after-hours.

These aren’t maximalist flips—they’re subtle acts of translation. C4STRO lets the emotional weight of the originals breathe while stitching them into a pulse-driven continuum. Jorge Ben Jor’s Magnólia gains a hypnotic low-end shuffle; Rita Lee’s Cobra slithers with funk and bite; Seu Jorge’s Sábado à Noite drifts like a late summer breeze. With Ramirezz, Marisa Monte’s Eu Sei becomes almost spectral, her vocal suspended in dubby atmospherics. Closing on Toco’s Meu Rio, the compilation dissolves into sun-washed celebration, tying Lisbon’s Atlantic perspective back to Rio’s coastline.

What makes the record stand out is its restraint. Rather than forcing Brazilian music into a rigid club template, C4STRO allows for softness, space and saudade. It’s a reminder that remix culture isn’t only about energy—it’s about dialogue. In the crosscurrent between Lisbon and Brazil, these tracks find new resonance, carving out a space that is as much about memory as it is about movement.

São Paulo producer and DJ Seed Selector has developed a distinctive style of melodic, progressive house shot through with funk, breakbeat and Miami bass influences.

His new four-track release, "TINHA Q SER" , arrives as a joint project from Tropicana Records and Jardineira Records.

The EP opens with “Aumenta o Som (Original Mix),” a collaboration with DJ Sanduba that combines urgent percussion and vocal fragments with a playful, block-party energy. Its counterpart, the “Solteira Mix,” strips the track back into looser, freer form, letting the rhythm expand into open space.

On the flip, “Dump of Life (Original Mix)” drives into heavier territory: a hypnotic, percussive workout with basslines that trace the tension of city nights. The “Vapo Mix” reworks it into something sharper and more vaporous, pushing towards a psychedelic release.

"TINHA Q SER" underlines Seed Selector’s range: funk-infused house with both weight and freedom, rooted in São Paulo’s underground but reaching outward to European dance floors.

Meet the artist: Vlad Fisun 

Proactive member of the Ukrainian electronic scene with recent appearances at Burning Man and Noir Sonores festivals, collaborations with Mixmag UK and Mixmag Ukraine, guest mixes for Bordello A Parigi and Nightclubber.ro, and a residency at Lusophonica Radio.
