Out 13th November, “Nordeste” is the second single from ‘A New Constellation’, an album of soulful jazz instrumental pieces by Quantic Presents The Western Transient, which surprised and delighted fans on its release in July, gaining tastemaker support from BBC 6Music’s Cerys Matthews, Gilles Peterson and Huey Morgan; KCRW, FIP, Radio Nova, Jamie Cullum (BBC R2); and press love from Jazzwise, DJ Mag, Okayplayer, Wax Poetics and beyond. 

Alongside “Nordeste”, which is a melodic portrait of the northeast style heard on a trip to the region of Caruaru and Recife in Brazil, this single also brings the brand new “Nordeste (David Montoya Remix)”, which sees the Mexico-born, LA-raised Montoya plying his renowned Afro-house skills for a vibrant, percussive and progressive take on the original. 

Also appearing on this package is “Latitude (To The Point Version)”, an alternate version of album track “Latitude”, recorded as the theme tune for iconic LA radio station KCRW’s To The Point programme; this beautiful cut, inspired by the highs and lows of having the freedom to roam, continues the heady themes of travel, adventure, nostalgia and discovery that run through the album. Cementing their ever-growing support of Quantic’s work, KCRW also booked him for their Summer Nights event, where he played a triumphant live set alongside De La Soul.
