Tru Wiz was born in Bronx, New York. He came from humble beginnings but always had a fiery spirit. He was greatly influenced by the music of the eighties era, being labeled under the umbrella of an “eighties baby” surely had a lasting impact on him. Tru Wiz began writing rhymes since the age of ten, but other things took precedent over fresh beats and dope rhymes. 
He recollects being a huge “Big Daddy Kane” fan, his favorite song was “warm it up Kane”.  According to him; “it was something about his lyrical skills, not to mention his stylish dress code that he admired, Kane could always move a crowd”. Another favorite of his was Slick Rick, as well as, Eric B & Rakim… “Who could rhyme over a beat that was played backwards, that was some phenomenal artistry, others have tried it but he was the first to do it!” 
Fast forward from high top haircuts, gazelle shades, and shell toe Addidas …to skinny jeans, high top haircuts, and Supras… some things just don’t change, rather nothing really goes out of style, just on hiatus.
 Tru Wiz has always loved music; he is an avid listener of all types of music from Coldplay, Mozart, Miles Davis, to Max B. and everything in-between. But he says the music has changed, it is not the quality it used to be. Although time changes and evolution is a must, he wants to bring a new face to Hip-Hop.
With ground breaking beats by his producer Izarya Nathan “The Architect”, they plan to take the Hip-Hop world by storm. Tru Wiz does not want to be pigeon-holed, so there could never be a comparison of his style to any one presently or from the past. He wants to focus on positive music and keeping God in it the mist always. But don’t get it twisted a man of God always kept a sword, just a snippet from his collaboration on the hit “Lite it Up”. Tru believes that there is so much talk about what kind of car a person is driving or how many rocks are in their canary yellow watch, he wants to make music that tells a true story and that is depicted on his debut album “My Hidden Thoughts”.
Tru says: “I’m not a rapper; this is just a new found hobby I like”.
