Keeping it widescreen throughout and the percussion pulls focus. At times slick and sultry, at others more ominous and ill-tempered, we’re dishing out high-velocity dynamics across four distinct trax. Constantly nudging towards the peak-time, but with plenty of breathy sensuality and dappled melody as he flexes a detailed, sound-sensitive approach.

Drums, drums and more drums. You know the deal by now: direct torque in full effect as we traverse the rugged, funked-out and percussive. Plenty of trippy flourish for good measure too, from humid fusions of rainforest FX and hallucinatory detail to light trail synths punching through inky abyss.

It all recalls Terry Francis’ and his Housey Doingz project at the peak of their powers. Big stabs, big forward momentum. Think the golden era of their Wiggle parties circa 1999.

Dropping his debut Soma EP is the Bulgarian based producer, THE DEVIANTT. Starting his production journey in 2014, his productions blend heavy bass lines, intricate textures, and emotive atmospheres to create a sound that resonates deeply within techno. His work pushes the boundaries of the genre, crafting immersive soundscapes that are both innovative and timeless.  Title track Indigo reflects THE DEVIANTTs main production styles perfectly with stripped backed beats, delicate hypnotism and perfectly weighted atmospheres. Avitohol continues the focus on deep hypnotics and repetition as perfectly crafted synths build the tension throughout. Noir delves down a more melancholic path with haunting melodies playing off against driving, deep rooted percussion. Octagon closes the EP on a deep and Detroit vibe as dubbed out stand push the energy while dystopian pads unnerve throughout the track

"They Made It Their Own" emerges from the memory of a school takeover, a desire to carve out a liminal space where time could stand still, allowing for complete detachment from the outside world. Within this self-contained realm, the tribe created its own rituals, playing machines in empty classrooms and corridors, reshaping the void into a playground of sound.

In his second full-length effort, Plastique01 expands his dense, pulsating sound with a broader spectrum of textures and colors. Built on obsessive rhythms and hypnotic structures, They Made It Their Own is a testament to both freedom and determination. Yet, while it often drives forward with relentless motion and exuberance, the album also carves out moments for reflection.
Take Glass Gym Club, for example, a brief, two-minute ambient interlude that acts as a palate cleanser, splitting the album in half. Bookending the record are two striking outliers: Climb, a cut-up spoken-word piece that sets the album’s thematic tone, and Love Buzz, an airy, haunted finale that evokes a dissonant symphony of strange, fluttering insects.
The album also boasts two key guest appearances: Ukrainian techno esotericist Stanislav Tolkachev, who injects a sense of doom and tension into the galloping Grooveboxes, and Lady Starlight, whose presence adds a sparkling energy to the vivid, bouncy Octagon Song.

They Made It Their Own is an immersive sonic journey, where hypnotic rhythms and fleeting respites intertwine, shaping a world that unfolds with every listen.

A stroboscope, also known as a strobe, is an instrument used to make a cyclically moving object appear to be slow-moving, or stationary. It consists of either a rotating disk with slots or holes or a lamp such as a flashtube which produces brief repetitive flashes of light.

The strobe light was popularised on the club scene during the 1960s when it was used to reproduce and enhance the effects of LSD trips. Ken Kesey used strobe lighting in coordination with the music of the Grateful Dead during his Acid Tests."

Strobe Culture is a concept curated by Introspective. After numerous years of exploring various aspects, realms, and colors of the electronic scene, Strobe Culture was born from a desire to create a deeper connection between sound, people and perception.

This first compilation is an ode to the deep, mental, clean-cut, and piercing sounds of hypnotic techno flourishing today. It consists of 11 tracks by artists from various musical backgrounds, creating a uniform yet multi-influenced compilation and narrative.
