Trudi's commercial potential was first recognized by the Sony label who signed her in 1993. Her debut single "Katie" was released in the same year receiving high critical acclaim and huge radio play throughout the UK.  Trudi went on to form her own band 'Clearwater', a collaboration with co-writer and guitarist Craig Burgess, producing some harder edged songs while still retaining her singer / songwriter roots. The result was the 10 track album "Rise above it", released in November 99.
