Michael Ritter returns to his Grey Bar Hotel imprint with ‘Yawa Raf’ EP. Grey Bar Hotel is a Berlin-based melodic house label curated by Michael Ritter and Felix E. Alongside showcases in and outside of Germany, the imprint focuses on fostering local and international artists, working with Kamilo Sanclemente, Indigo Man, Supacooks, and many more since the label’s inception in 2018. A regular performer around Berlin, Michael Ritter has previously appeared on Stellar Black, YOMO Records and Polyptych. Returning to his own Grey Bar Hotel for his latest release, the DJ/producer delivers four deep and moving tracks across the ‘Yawa Raf’ EP. Our choice here was closing track ‘Elephant’ which rounds out the release with syncopated melodic elements and clever arrangements amongst gorgeous chords.

An exciting combination of artists here as Mira Nait, Riigs and Paul Hazendonk have teamed up resulting in a truly unique and stand out single 'Waiting For The Sun'.

Dark and melancholic, yet uplifting and infectious, and both 'radio' / 'streaming' friendly- as well as club friendly, 'Waiting For The Sun' has all the ingredients to become one of those tracks that will stand the test of time.

A classy cut by artists who, between them, have seen their music released on labels such as Purified, Get Physical, Diynamic and Toolroom to name a few.

Following INVŌKER’s ‘Superhero’, When We Dip XYZ is proud to present ‘The Chaos Inside’ from Imeïa, who has already been spotlighted on imprints such as Isolate, Frau Blau and Sum Over Histories. On this EP, the enigmatic producer blends impactful grooves, uncharacteristic delays, poignant textures and creative use of silence.

Things start off with ‘Le Pire Pour La Fin’, a deep cut which is led by a slow, drawn-out melody which recedes in favour of the bassline and noise-heavy plucks.
 
The eponymous ‘The Chaos Inside’ brings the energy levels a few notches up. The layered pad and choir initiate a progression of epic proportions over the simple, driving groove. The impacts, risers and glitches all accentuate this feeling of immensity. 

On ‘Elegancia’, the doubled kicks and resounding vocals set the scene for the larger than life lead synth. A subtle acid touch on the bass completes the tune. 

The last track, ‘Blue Romance’ displays the clearest vocals we’ve seen from Imeïa so far. The line ‘I don’t wanna be a fool, I just wanna be a tool’ is repeated throughout the intro and outro. A screaming guitar announces the highlight of the tune, with its uplifting bass pattern and toy-like percussions. An alternate dub mix is also available.
