Following releases from Jozef K, 3kelves, Dylan C. Greene and Steve Mill, Geraldine - which came bolstered with the boss himself - the latest offering on True Romance is a quintessential example of makes the label so omni-appreciated.

Here - Oslo based artist Henrik Villard offers up 4 beautiful grooves, stripped down to the bare minimum: well crafted drums and deftly selected samples all suffused with an irresistible amber glow.

'I See U' kicks things off with a jubilant, circling sample which is filtered and panned as it fleshes out a crispy House back bone. ‚Breezin - Fall In Love' then follows up with more smiley sampling which is underpinned by a thick, rumbling sub.

'Love Forever Stands' then sets field recordings and shuffling rim-shots over a cosy kick drum as another sunny sample bleeds into the mix. Sax samples and neat vocal cuts pepper the track in a manner that recalls some of the finest Smallville records before

Next up on Tensnake's True Romance is a 2-hit combo from Egyptian born n 'Spanish youngster Paul Rudder glides into the True Romance catalogue with ease, fitting in neatly with a slice of euphoric, sophisticated House. Next up in True Romance is Street Player with a brilliantly radiant recording that harpoons right to the core of hay-day French Filter House. All of the key ingredients are present and are sounding as fresh as ever; swirling synths, balmy guitar samples and a gorgeously honeyed vocal are all set in motion by a ripe, punchy rhythm section.

On Sticky Swedish duo Dagfest bring a breezy, summer festival-ready release infused with plenty of vintage synths over the course of five original tracks.

Opening proceedings is Spacer Love Samba, a slow, upbeat slice of italo disco with a raw bassline and fuzzy synth loops that makes for a great mood warmer. Imagination blends elements of synth pop and italo into a lush and laid back slice. Also on the romantic side, Baby, I don’t know delivers low key euphoria in the form of a zig zagging bassline with low slung vocals. Punchy kicks announce Night Thoughts, a floor filler that captivates with its upbeat energy and elastic bassline. The 80's are back in full force on Alan Dixon’s debut for Tensnake’s True Romance imprint. The London producer is on the rise with releases on Lumberjacks In Hell and Running Back this year alone. “Motel 4000” serves as a further assertion of his prodigious talent in the studio.
Title track “Motel 4000” dishes out a full body experience with a powerful italo chug, vintage chord progressions and racy trance undertones. Watch out for the piano house choruses that sound like they’ve been pulled out straight out of a classic. It’s a big one.
