A Brazilian now based in Europe, he has been a constant presence on the world stage since 2013, mesmerizing audiences with his DJ performances at influential events. In the studio, he releases top-notch techno productions showcasing his distinct musicality and energy. Victor's upbeat approach is evident in his arsenal of edits, including iconic tracks like 'Breathe' by The Prodigy and 'Everything Counts' by Depeche Mode. With a lifelong dedication to music, Victor Ruiz is hardworking, talented, and driven by passion.

Inspired by his brother's love for heavy metal, Victor learned to play multiple instruments and joined bands during his formative years. He pursued electronic music production in university, drawing influences from Daft Punk, MTV, and Fruity Loops. As a DJ, he refined his skills through challenging experiences, learning in the field without decks at home.

Victor's profile in Brazil skyrocketed with a big hit, leading to performances at major festivals and venues, connecting him with international selectors. In 2013, his first European tour marked a turning point in his career, exposing him to Europe's progressive club culture. His international profile grew rapidly, eventually leading him to relocate to Berlin in 2018.

Currently, Victor Ruiz travels the world with a busy schedule of gigs, delivering powerful performances that entertain and challenge the dance floor. He has gained a massive global following, captivating audiences with his musical odyssey. Victor's studio work on labels like Drumcode, Noir Music, and Suara showcases his playful attitude and unique sound, influenced by various genres. His music reflects his identity and serves as an invitation to get to know him better.

Still playing the bass guitar, Victor remains deeply passionate about music. He appreciates the simple things in life and approaches his craft with humility. This mix was recorded live from Reaktor's Katharsis event in 2017.  For those that don't know, Katharsis happens once a year and is dedicated to the faster, harder and more industrial side of techno.  This was my entire 3 hour set from that night.

Over the last few years we have built a steady relationship doing events together and sharing our passion for this music.  We are teaming up once again for ADE 2018 and releasing this mix as a thank you to all our followers and supporters.

For series 035, he delivered a 2-hour set recorded at Traum, Croatia.

About Thomas Schumacher:
Thomas Schumacher still burns with curiosity. The Berlin- based DJ and producer makes light of his status as one of the most enduring, versatile artists in electronic music. "What I love about Techno is that it demands that you question yourself, reinvent yourself." 
Thomas Schumacher is always pushing his own boundaries. "The art of being relevant," he says, "Is to forget what you know.” In his early days as an artist, he had to learn how to physically create the sounds he heard in his head. Now, as a virtuoso, the challenge is to use his breadth and depth of musical knowledge to convey profound emotion. "Techno is not just a tool to make people dance," he says. "It is a very personal, intimate way of expressing myself." 
This intimacy fuels the unique vibe of a Thomas Schumacher DJ set. He compares himself to the captain of a ship. “I purposely steer my sets into rough waters. I want to help people get out of their heads and into their bodies. I create a safe space for people to lose their minds, in the best possible way. They know they don't need to worry or be afraid, because I’ve got them. I know what I'm doing. They can let go and just be." 
When not guiding clubbers through seas of sound, Schumacher reaches them via his productions on his label Electric Ballroom, and his weekly NOW podcast. NOW is a showcase for his low-key charm and impeccable ear for a great tune. And, like his DJ sets, the podcast is a forum for his studio output including the recent Natural Rhythm EPs on Noir. 
The more you do, the more there is to explore, the more opportunities to invent, connect, and imagine. "I am always the one to change it up," Thomas Schumacher grins. "My ongoing ambition is to connect to the crowd, year after year. It's what lights me up." 
His seminal release “Stella” on Noir Music lit up the Beatport Techno chart, going straight to Number 1. "Stella" is a propulsive anthem dedicated to his daughter and it’s resonating with his fans. He sees no reason to compartmentalise his music and life. Everything is connected, everything is authentic. "There is no other version of me," he says. "When you meet me, you meet Thomas Schumacher."
