As Figure begins to move into the next chapter of its label history, label founder Len Faki has teamed up with young French talent Roman Poncet for the 54th release. Poncet's debut on the label dropped last year with the excellent 'Cerate' cutting a clear path for his precisely executed modern techno sound. 

Teaming up in the studio, Faki and Poncet have crafted 'Asua' - a mesmerising display of production skill and a testament to the duo's true understanding of hypnosis. Pushing from the start with its urgent bassline the track builds and morphs its intertwining elements, introducing subtle textures and suggestions of melody - a classic Figure late night ritual. 

Alongside, we have original tracks from both Len Faki and Roman themselves. Faki's thunderous and aptly titled 'Stripped' works his powerhouse percussion along with a textured dub-stab in this straight up club trip. 

Finally with 'Truck' Roman Poncet completes the EP, his rough synth stabs and metallic percussion driving this moody tension builder ever forward.

After being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's in Los Angeles, a teenage David Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. His style then was as varied as the local scene - a myriad of sounds ranging from house to acid to techno to hardcore. After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F & Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

In early 2011, he started the project Truncate to focus on the deeper, raw side of techno. His Truncate releases early on gained critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink, Slam, Loco Dice, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin, Carl Cox & Nicole Moudaber. He has also released original works on 50 Weapons, Ultramajic, Blueprint, Ei8ht, Figure and of course his own imprint Truncate. He has also collaborated with Jimmy Edgar, Chambray and most recently started a new project with Ben Sims as ‘Assailants’ which they’ve released on their own imprint ‘Obscurity Is Infinite’.

A rigorous international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and regular appearances at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam, Output in New York, and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is still no slowing down for David. He continues to shape an evolving sound and to champion the Los Angeles underground.
