Mutual Rytm from Stuttgart, Germany is run by SHDW, and the label has featured the music of several outstanding producers, including Grindvik, Raffaele Attanasio, Stigmata, and Alarico.

Icelandic techno figure Exos returns to Mutual Rytm with 'Sweet Dreams' which is his fifth LP and first full album on SHDW’s influential label. Across 12 tracks, the record explores the past, present, and future of techno, drawing on Exos’s 20-year career and the contrasts of his Icelandic roots. Known for releases on Tresor, Ben Sims' Symbolism, Len Faki's Figure, and Force Inc. Music Works, he delivers a journey through dub techno foundations, ambient moments, and emotional vocal cuts, all rooted in the raw purity of ’90s techno and lifelong experience.

The Nusery's second release of 2018 is a solo release by the hands of JC Laurent, a talented Frenchman who's been putting out top notch techno for the better part of a decade. 

Over that course of time, JC has developed a mature sound which is demonstrated fiercely on the EP's first track Dissonances. While thunderous kickdrums are making way for phasing synthesis, even the littlest of drum patterns are enough to keep tension sky high without exception. 

This formula is maintained throughout the tracks that follow. Whether it's the slightly dreamier Groom Lake, the tight sequences of the title track Soaring Over or the eerie, outer space vibe in Surveillance Plane: neither of them comprises anything more than that which is strictly necessary. And that is what makes Soaring Over EP the stellar piece of work that it is, four powerful cuts that are just waiting to make heads turn.

Hyperactive returns to Northern Parallels with a track that chugs and snaps through the darkness. Acid pads reverberate tumble over a swinging and unrelenting kick. Growing layers of rhythmic accents dodge in and out while the synth grows busier and more frantic.

Gabriella Vergilov's Natural Remix breaths fiery soul into the beating heart. A bare melody set this track apart from the previous instrumental pieces. The melody is provided by undulating synth lines that hover over a doubled up kick. Gabriella provides the vocals and they are as natural as the title implies.

Doubt makes his debut on Northern Parallels with previous released music on DVS1's Mistress Recordings imprint. Doubt provides a stripped down version to reveal a chrome dipped skeleton. Dry and sparse percussion, the mix takes on the mood of a mad scientist's laboratory.

Jason Patrick adds his own diverse interpretation with blending atmospheric synth stabs, seamless percussive movement, streamlined by haunting vocals riffs.

Label boss, Mike Derer wraps up the EP with a remix maintaining the feel of the original and also adding dubbed out synth line. The track launches when the percussion take over an already rollicking kick. Mike's stripped down sound reflects the mind of the machine and blares its steely emotions.

<p>Cubix makes his debut statement on Kombination Research with a solid techno EP. Starting this EP is &#8216;Rasp&#8217; which is a very an aggressive techno track. Heavy beat mixed up perfectly with a dark percussion on the foreground. &#8216;Kinetix&#8217; is a stilted techno track, with a dark beat and skulking bass that makes this one a techno killer. A magical EP from Cubix, which he knows the definition of techno and exposes two techno anthems on Kombination Research.</p>

Cubix - Rasp (Original Mix)

After being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's in Los Angeles, a teenage David Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. His style then was as varied as the local scene - a myriad of sounds ranging from house to acid to techno to hardcore. After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F & Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

In early 2011, he started the project Truncate to focus on the deeper, raw side of techno. His Truncate releases early on gained critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink, Slam, Loco Dice, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin, Carl Cox & Nicole Moudaber. He has also released original works on 50 Weapons, Ultramajic, Blueprint, Ei8ht, Figure and of course his own imprint Truncate. He has also collaborated with Jimmy Edgar, Chambray and most recently started a new project with Ben Sims as ‘Assailants’ which they’ve released on their own imprint ‘Obscurity Is Infinite’.

A rigorous international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and regular appearances at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam, Output in New York, and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is still no slowing down for David. He continues to shape an evolving sound and to champion the Los Angeles underground.
