Well, it's been a while. How have you been? So we recently asked Max Santilli if he could grace us with a Beachcombers entry, and in response he turned in this fantastic mix for all our listening. Max has great taste and is an excellent producer, so it's only natural this mix shines with an hour of soft-rock, ambient ballads, balearic grooves and much more. Perfect for this mild summer we find ourselves in. Enjoy!

Beachcombing with Max Santilli

After moving from Hong Kong to Melbourne I became acquainted with the label Efficient Space. I found one great discovery after another as I collected their releases, including the music of Andy Rantzen. I was intrigued by his sonic landscapes and the depth and texture of his music, so I got in touch with him about doing a Friendly Mixtape. 

Andy's not a DJ, so instead of doing a mixtape himself he sent me some of his tracks for me to put together. My mix of his work spans the period 1991-2021 and features selections from his solo material and collaborations with Sudmalis and Rantzen, Itch-E & Scratch-e, fc europa, Boo Boo & Mace and Trancendental Anarchists.
