Time to highlight my winter home, Singapore. This was taken during the www.super0.sg festival while I stayed at Changi Beach Park, Singapore. Another collection of records I found whilst diggin through the many warehouses of 2nd hand record shops spread across this City State.  This country is truly beautiful for it's landscape and food. I hope this mix helps you feel like you are laying by the sea, as I was too. Please feel free to download and enjoy on your next beach trip.

Steve Cobby has been in the trenches of the UK electronic music since the late Eighties. Touring the world with his Fila Brazilia collective and much loved Pork Recordings stable, Steve has been a man of many pseudonyms and collaborations. In 2014 Steve chose to concentrate on solo work which has so far yielded three fine albums, the most recent of which last year's 'Hemidemisemiquaver' rightly found itself at the top of many 2017 best of lists. Here he turns in a super cool mix touching on dub, funk, disco and tracks featured from the new album. In 1995 I passed on a mix tape to Groove Academy (Giant Step) Marc Labelle at an outdoor stage that was rocking with DJ's Jazzy Nice, Chillfreeze + Groove Collective & Nappy G live. They soon took me on as a 3rd DJ in the weekly rotation of the legendary Giant Step parties. The club vibes were HOT! There was a mix of hip hop, jazz, funk, live instrumentation, paintings, tap dancers as well as a very funky & sexy dance floor! Needless to say, I was hooked & thanks to Marc, Maurice Bernstein & Jonathan Rudnick, I stayed in the Giant Step crew for many years after. We pushed the sounds from Acid Jazz/funk, Hip Hop/Trip Hop, House & Drum & Bass- all with live musicians taking it to another level. I've also had the opportunity to DJ at shows for Jazzmattazz, Tricky, K&D, St Germain, Pharcyde, Groove Collective, Massive Attack, Gil Scott Heron & all the greats who passed through NYC at that time. Here's the 1st mix-tape I did for Giant Step in 1995.
