Pioneer DJ Radio Presents // Underground Audio - Truth Be Told

Italian duo Proudly People join Hector Couto's Roush imprint this June, armed with three driving, original cuts. Forming in late 2011, Proudly People, aka Gabriele di Natale and Antonio Cosentino, have since gone on to establish themselves as key players within Europe's house and tech house circuits, with appearances at the likes of Studio 338 (London), Amnesia (Milan), Hive (Zurich) and Club Vaag (Antwerp) in the past 12 months alone. Fresh from their latest EP on InMotion Music, and following previous material on stand out imprints including Moon Harbour, Desolat and Avotre, here we see the duo join Roush to deliver three fresh productions in the form of their 'Damn True' EP. Title track 'Damn True' unveils an upfront, energetic peak time production that fuses skipping hats, interjecting vox samples and off kilter bleeps and sonics to great effect, whilst 'Root Down' sees the duo go to work, introducing crisp drum shots amongst wandering synth leads and a rolling groove line. 'Shake Dat' rounds out the package whilst keeping the intensity high, as the focus is shifted towards slick, organic percussion patterns guided by snaking sub-bass and infectious vocal hooks to reveal a driving production geared for the dance floor. Proudly People 'Damn True' is out on Roush on 18th June 2018.

Jamie Jones joins forces with New York’s David Berrie for an electrifying two track release on Hot Creations. Doctor Zouk is the result of a friendship spanning many years, and is set to be unleashed this Autumn.

Title track Doctor Zouk is a bumpy, chuggy roller with a prominent percussive break and heady tribal undertone. Future Society uses thumping drum pads over a growling bassline with unmistakable high hats weaved together over futuristic synths.

Jamie Jones is one of the industry’s most in demand and recognised DJs. He heads up one of Ibiza’s most treasured parties, Paradise at DC10, and now takes it to all corners of the globe. His revered Hot Creations imprint has put out more than one hundred releases as well as playing a major part in launching the careers of Patrick Topping, Richy Ahmed and Detlef.

Spending his formative years in New York, sneaking into the city’s diverse and flamboyant nightclubs and heavily influenced by a broad spectrum of genres, it wasn’t long before David Berrie took to the turntables. He released on Jones’ Hottrax label last year and has had a number of releases on Nervous and Monique Sp é ciale. He commands regular slots at BPM festival as well as at the Paradise nights.

Following our Italian affaire, Sante Sansone makes a great Roush comeback with 'Flash Back', an excellent two track EP that confirms his great shape. After releasing on well known labels such as Lapsus Music, La Pera Records and Lost Records he just recently signed an innovative EP on Jamie Jones' Hottrax. With such an impressive wagon that continues growing daily Sante Sansone shows his great production skills in opener 'Flash Back'. A raw rhythm plus a rumbling bassline are the main characters of this groovy composition. A well placed robotic vocal on breakdowns brings some tension before the drop. Next up, 'My Boyz' it's an actual Hip-House infused composition that works effectively as a b-side of the EP.

It's always encouraging to see new talent breaking through due to pure determination and talent. Merseyside-based duo Truth Be Told are more than deserved of their popularity, which stems from both crowds and fellow musicians alike.

When their debut EP received key support from Richie Hawtin back in 2012, their sound was exposed to ears around the world, and things really started to change for them from a career perspective. They kept the momentum up by releasing on Hector Couto's Roush label and from there their music secured plays from Jamie Jones and Darius Syrossian.

After a string of releases, Truth Be Told developed their reputation even further by becoming an in-demand name, playing at numerous gigs up and down the country as well as shows internationally. Now you can find the lads involved with Sante's Avotre imprint gaining #15 in the Beatport charts, featured as Friday Fire from Danny Howard, plays from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and an official remix for Eddie Amador on his legendary track 'House Music'.
