It was this and other songs ostensibly written about boats that inspired the creation of "...Friend's Ship."  Let's briefly reflect upon some other songs about ships, which are really just overlarge boats. 

“Sloop John B.” comes to mind. “Row Row Row Your Boat” is a classic. “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” is about a boat named after a man named Edmund Fitzgerald. Titanic has a whole musical about it, which is at least like 7 to 10 songs. Maybe as many as 35 or so, depending on if it's one of those stupid ones where they never stop singing. 

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, “Port Man Toe” from The Jethro Tull album Git Yer Willy Wacked. Now lets stop for a second and think about the fact that I couldn't think of any more actual boat songs and so I just made that last one up. It really says something about what an unexplored and fertile topic this is.

Also, we literally want your friend's ship. We don't care which friend, presumably the one you know that has a ship. If you know more than one person with a boat...whatever. You know, dealer's choice. Please sail the ship to dock #KW 4609 Cayman Islands. If there is already a ship parked there, get as close as you can to that ship, poke a hole in the bottom of the one you brought, and sink the hell out of it. We have salvage rights for 3 miles directly out to sea.
