The End is Upon Us

One of my goals this year was to be consciously intimately connected with God again and lately I feel I have been thinking my reality more than I have been surrendering and praying for guidance.

So my inspiration to do this mix was to get out my head and back into my body safely; music via dj'ing, singing and dancing is always the way for me to do this with the least resistance.

3 Days Deep in a water fast I am humbled that I am not at 100%.
 I jumped on the decks to distract myself for an hour but found with my low energy and brain fog I was making silly little mistakes.

This is a very prominant mix for me as for almost 3 years I have not really been able to touch and certainly not enjoy being on the decks due to past associations with old friends, nights out, mistakes I have made.

I recently felt msyelf called to log in to beatport and upon doing so found some amazing tracks in my hold bin from more than 5 years ago.

At this moment it hit me that father time waits for no man and we should never give up on what we love or who we are just because people have a problem with it.

I deeply enjoyed playing around with this mix I hope you all like it, please as always leave your feedback good or bad, it is all growth at the end of the day.

Father Time's Illusive Inception

There is a lot of emotion behind this November 2012 mix as it was painfully my last mix on the CDJ 2000's before I sold them to buy a custom engagement ring for my ex, Stacey.
Deeper than that though I was very confused as to whether I should give up something I loved for something or someone else and even more so I was wondering should I be getting married? 

As life evolved it became apparent that yes marriage is for me, just not with Stacey but I have so much love for that woman as without her I would not be married with my beautiful Sam and the life we have together.
Upon reflection I think the whole engagement was constructed to fill a deeper void, which was that I was missing home, and I felt a little outta sight, outta mind from my old "friends".
All of this was of course at the subconscious level, even the names of the tracks chosen were from an unaware point of blissful ignorance -  house lesson, bassline soldiers, they frontin', Love Rehab and Oliver Koletzi's 50 ways to love your liver, to name a few.
I was pretty confused and was literally trying to find my place in the world, so I dedicate this mix to anyone who is feeling lost, anxious, overwhelmed or a bit disjointed from their true calling.
We are all but grains of sand in the vast landscape of life, but without us inhabiting via this speck of space, the whole construct becomes incomplete, so never forget who you are and how pivotal you are to the continual spin of this big blue dot we are on within the infinite universe.

Eyes In Your Stars

These are some of the sultrier dark tunes that I have downloaded this summer that I have been wanting to mix.

However after selling my decks 5months ago in oz I had nothing to mix on 😞

Sorted now with my DDJ 400, this was LITERALLY MY 1st PLAY as I was itching for a mix that much.

In hindsight maybe should have practised the sampler and effects 1st, as I am so used to mixing with 3 decks, however it is raw and real....just like how I try to live life.
