Following recent releases "Stampede" on Skrillex's OWSLA label and “Don’t Like To Do” on Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird label, Cause & Affect (aka Chris Lorenzo & Kane) return with a huge new single "Another Time" feat. Jamie George, out June 22nd on Fat! Records.

Birmingham-based producer / DJ duo Cause & Affect, aka Chris Lorenzo and Kane, are widely acknowledged for pioneering the UK House / Bass hybrid sound. Big releases on legendary labels OWSLA, Dirtybird, Strictly Rhythm and Bromance, recent killer remixes for Grades, Shift K3y and Ten Ven & Ripley, plus a ground-breaking weekly show on Rinse FM, has seen them secure incredible, international radio and media support, making fans out of the likes of Skrillex, Claude Von Stroke, Annie Mac, Steve Aoki and Diplo along the way.

On "Another Time", Cause & Affect team up with Rinse Records vocalist Jamie George (known for his work with Zinc, Toddla T and Roska) - marrying a ridiculously catchy, topline melody with their monstrous, burrowing basslines.

With a phenomenal remix package courtesy of Taiki Nulight, Sinden, Ganzfeld Effect, Knoxa and Jakkin Rabbit, Another Time is set to take the club and festival stages by storm this summer, launching with a very special, debut live performance of Another Time, with Cause & Affect accompanied by Jamie George, at Fabric on June 19th.

Call Me (After Midnight) is the debut collaborative single from ex Deepest Blue frontman Joel Edwards and 19-year old producer, saxophonist, pianist & re-mixer Boney (aka BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year Alexander Bone.) 

Written, produced, played and mixed by Edwards & Boney the song has all the classic ingredients of a hit single – radio friendly, dance driven and hook laden.

Boney has previously remixed Grades & Kylie Minogue and also worked closely with Nile Rodgers & Rudimental on a remix of the classic Le Freak. While Edwards has sold 100’s of thousands of singles as Deepest Blue and worked with artists as varied as Planet Funk, Skin, Joey Negro, Ed Case & Chicane. 

The single also includes remixes to suit every mood & taste. 2 from Cafe Del Mar and Joey Negro collaborator TrAmHeD and smashing the club we have Skint Records very own Sonny Wharton - along with a remix from newcomer Fiefdom.

With a nod to our music friends and family in the UK "Then I Bounce" delivers a solid and crisp contemporary breakbeat with a dash of early UK hardcore drum samples. The spacious synths and placement of the effects with rolling 808 bassline give it the futuristic tech feel, while the gorgeous pad chords deliver beauty  and harmony.
Vocals are slick and keen with heavy subculture lyrics that point to mind expansion and clublife.

Cowens Brothers are a DJ & producers duo from Charleroi, Belgium. And yes, they are actually brothers... Kevin, a deep house DJ and Ian, an exponant of the Tribal house sound, decided join forces in 2012 to create a mixture of their styles both on behind the decks and behind the boards. With releases and remixes on labels like Spinnin', House of House & The Groove Society, its time for them to join the Fat! Records fold and drop 'For You' featuring the sultry vocal of rising star Beatrich, featuring a remix from Embody.

'For you' is a deep and melodic summer anthem perfectly suited to the Ibiza after parties. Beatrich voice matched with the Cowens Brothers production is sure fire hit for both the dancefloor and airwaves.

Embody then steps up to take on remix duties for the single and moulds the original into a up-front and pop focused affair. The Lithuanian born, London based producer has been building plays on his music online at an astonishing rate recently. Over 45 million streams combined across his production and remixes. His remix for Wilkinson's 'Sweet Lies' went top 5 in the UK Dance Charts on Shazam and his remix of John Newman reached the No.1 spot on Hype Machine. On Spotify alone, Embody racks up over 200k listens a month. Pretty impressive for soneone who only released his first track in 2014.

When it comes to record labels in the golden era of Breakbeat music, Fat! is up there as one of the most consistent, original and standard setting on the global scene... Along with their legendary night 'Chew the Fat' at the End in London, the label pioneered a sound in music that will live forever in the souls of ravers all over the world. 

Luminary artists such as Foamo, Maribou State, Bondax and Baobinga (Sam Binga) and many others passed through the label in its earlier years and created a sound that was rooted in club culture and helped evolve the diverse Bass & Breakbeat sound.

The very first releases featured the likes of Peacemaker, The Apollo Kids, Merka, Tayo & Kickflip releasing tunes and remixes on the label that will live in Breakbeat folklore.... This is what we are here to celebrate! Re-mastered, re-uploaded, and re-presented for you to re-live your heady days of the naughtys! Fat! Records are proud to present to you Fat! Breaks Vol 1. 

Taking a snap shot of the labels earliest highlights from its Breakbeat beginnings, these tunes represent a time in music when influences were flying around like model spitfires at a Saturday morning remote control plane meeting in the park. Techno, early Grime, Garage, Drum & Bass, House, were all being fused into a cohesive melee of breaks and basslines which captured the essence of everything that was fresh and new in the club and dance music at the time, whilst giving a nod to the past with a sprinkling of Disco, old skool Hip Hop and Jungle. 

Fat! has since progressed onto releasing some of the finest House, techno and pop infused dance music in the past decade, but its former years will always have a special place in the hearts and minds of many.

To round off the package, Fat! has enlisted the help of Breakbeat believers and 2 of the eras top DJ's, Terry Atomic Hooligan and Jay Cunning to blend this bunch of classics into an hour long mix thats reminiscent of their many sets at Chew The Fat!
