It often starts with an incredible break.

When https://soundcloud.com/themarv discovered Ilaiyaraja's Vikram, she was blown away by the many grooves of this multi talented artist.

For her third EP, she wanted to pay a tribute to his works from great 70's, 80's and even 90's indian movie scores. 
So she started digging again, carefully selecting breaks and melodies from this extremely prolific composer who was given the title of Ragadevan (King of Tunes). Each sample would be like a unique spice to her special ginger soda recipe.

So here's the blend : Heavy beats, hip hop with some house twists, big analog bass, oriental breaks, and some secret ingredients that she only knows about.

You'll be surprised by the maturity of the works of this young female beatmaker, who mastered the boombap science in only a few weeks
Beware, you may experience psychedelic hallucinations: spicy audio sensations, wild animals popping here and there, pastel colors and voluptuous oriental fragrances.

A wind blows, birds are singing a lullaby, I see goats dancing to Ragadevan's oscillations. Wooo I'm high.

A German-born genre previously known as kosmische before the Wümme based group Faust adopted the potential slur as the movement's new blanket tag. 

Aiming to stretch the genre's ready-elasticated boundaries that little bit further Herrs Votel, Mitchell und Shipton try to avoid the obvious major label gatefold trophy records (and happily fail at the first furlong) by adding 1970's DDR pop, German DIY punk, early Krautsploitation horrotica, Deutsch library records and other strains of lesser known Krautsider pop. So expect all the big hitters from Dusseldorf, Munich, Cologne and, errr, Altrincham while swimming in a sea of crackle via freakish visiting cabaret bands and unlikely collaborations spanning five decades... The sun had risen and it was time for the last set on the Warrior's side, it was time for MENTAL. Rebolledo and Dramian created an energetic hypnotic journey through a wide range of emotions. A morning to remember... It was one for the books...

The Marv presents Malayalam Beats. 

For her debut EP, The Marv pays a tribute to her origins. 
The french-lankan beatmaker selected only samples from Malaylam movie songs to prepare this unique flavored work.
Such as a tea cultivator would do, she picked carefully beat "leaves"  that her father used to sing to her back when she was a kid (Once upon a time). 
Then she dried them out on the Akai sampler, and mixed those gems with that original boom bap that only a few know. She has been trained to the secret skills of Beatmaking by her Shaolin old timer husband retired in the Parisian mountains . 
Family is an important part of this EP.
Have a sip of this special blend, Indian-Lankan-Dancing-bittersweet-Malayalam beats, and watch out for new flavors to come.
