Turbo Recordings is thrilled to add Lithuania’s Roe Deers to our ever-growing yet mercilessly exclusive stable of young dance talent. While we have yet to meet Deers in real life, our thorough scouring of his hard drive has made us feel that he’s a perfect addition to the Turbo family. He’s put out releases on our friends’ labels, including Omnidisc, Duro, and Nein, all of which is a roundabout way of us letting you know we have so many friends. He’s also hot off a remix on legendary Turbo A&R man Thomas Von Party’s excellent new Party Central label. In addition, Deers is a regular DJ at Opium Club in Vilnius, one of our favorite venues in the world despite its scandalous name. In 1881, the British Medical Association denounced opium eaters as “immoral and perfidious foozlers who are not up to dick by any reasonable estimation,” and we would probably have to agree with that, given the available science.

No one would deny the Rolling Stones’ Voodoo Lounge was the sound of the 90s, and we feel that title track “Voodoo Gym" is poised to have a similar impact over the coming decade. It takes megalith-sized balls to invoke the occult, and this tribal-infused bomb backs up those balls and then some. “Bottom Monster” conjures all the raw sexual menace of the Creature from the Black Lagoon, or even Frankenstein, while “Jackpot in Space” jacks and teases for what feels like and is several minutes before erupting in a geyser of sweat and quarters. Finally, Star Wars creator Joseph Campbell once said that, “Shakespeare said that art is a mirror,” and closer “Moody Express,” which Deers describes as “passive-aggressive, sneaky, and sleazy,” may help some of you come to terms with the kind of person you’ve become.

A long walk was at the apex of most days; sometimes the route was the same, sometimes they took a punt. That was the beauty of living in the countryside, there was a never-ending supply of nature to explore. Of course, the woodland walks and far-reaching cornfields had become familiar after all these years of living here, but every now and then they'd stumble upon a hidden paradise.

Hot on the heels of Daniel Monaco & Sauvage World's EP earlier this month, San Francisco's Roam Recordings welcome Australian-born, New York-based producer Kate Stein. Marking her debut release, 'Scenic Byway' offers two original cuts that display Kate's knack for crafting hypnotic melodies and low rumbling bass lines, backed up by two remixes on the flip from Perel and Zillas On Acid.

Alexander Klygin aka Ruksby (SXDNS256) is a young and skilled Russian producer. Veneno is a dangerous and lethal Mexican label. They have just recently met each other on the Internet, and now they have a malevolent and evil baby together: “Infierno” is the name, a hot and acid single that will come along with four powerful remixes made with love by 9claws, DanceMilkDance, Gegen Mann (SXDNS220/FREEDL031), and Orchid (FREEDL041).

Ruksby’s rich and versatile sonority – defined as a fusion of obscure waves with an electric atmosphere – has been drawing attention amid the Dark Disco community since his debut on Moleskine Records in 2020. His ability to seamlessly combine his many an influence at such a young age is definitely something. NEIN, U're Guay, HEARec, and Emerald & Doreen are just a few of the imprints through which he showcased his works.

Premiered here, the remix of another representative of the Russian next generation of underground electronic music artists: Ilya Mitin aka DanceMilkDance is a one-man band: The kid is a sound producer, mixing engineer, DJ, and guitarist! Phew! He successfully put into practice his various dexterities to provide an intense interpretation of “Infierno”, speeding up the original (from 114 to 120 BPM), adding more acid layers, and bringing the theme to a more cosmic-infused realm. ¡Nos gustó! Something was on his tail and he didn't know what. There'd been no time to look back over his shoulder, the only focus was to keep up the pace and hope whatever it was didn't catch up with him. He had no idea what his destination was and the streets were becoming increasingly unfamiliar the further he ran. Gasping for breath he felt his body start to slow as his heart rate soared, he'd not though about what would happen when he'd run out of steam, but that time was closing in...

Eliezer loves a good collaboration. The Tel Aviv-based artist thrives when he joins forces with artists peddling a similar sound: the likes of Middle Sky Boom, Niv Ast and, more recently, Ackerman, under the guise of Deadly Weapons. Of course he releases solo too but for his next EP, a return to local label New Day Everyday, he's bringing more friends along for the ride - some old and some new. Affiliates Niv and Ackerman are back on board, joined by vocalists Vongold and Isadora and the minds behind Mexican label Duro, as well as NINAY who's the collaborator for our pick, a sludgy old school acid cut with a subtle Middle Eastern touch.

His work has been recognised and released on iconic labels such as Italo Moderni, Paradiso Records, CDH or the promising Ulla Records based in Toulouse, the city where Emilio is sending this beautiful Trance and EBM packed mix from.

While we were finishing the last details of this release, we read with astonishment in the news that a group of scientists was able to take the first photograph of the black hole that exists in the heart of the milky way. This has raised many questions that we usually find in science fiction. What are they? Are they the portal to another dimension? Are there other dimensions beyond known space-time? The truth is, we don't know shit about this. But the first thing that came to mind, as we laughed through thick clouds of smoke and listened to the final mastering of 'Sticker Shock', was: where did these guys come from? This sound has to come from another dimension. There is no other explanation.
We are more than psyched to introduce you to our reference number 044 “Sticker Shock” produced by Zillas On Acid.
Thomas Roland and James Weissinger were born and raised in Philadelphia (or so they say) and in recent years have built a solid catalog with different appearances in Optimo, Les Disques de la Mort, Multi Cult and Dischi Autunno, among others.
This EP has unique assembled layers and planes. The songs are at the same time fun, psychedelic and deep, mixing slow-motion death disco, dubbed-out drum machine music, and of course ACID to get party people on all planets pumped.
On the remix side, the great German Tolouse Low Trax offers us a robotic, kraut and freaky-funk reinterpretation of the song that gives the album its name. And last but not least, label boss Martin Noise join forces with talented young producer DELLA to create a groovy and percussive madness version of ‘Paper Party’
