Tsunami Audio's third release ventures into dark halfstep DnB territory and features the mighty Cooh aka Ivan Shopov from Sofia, Bulgaria.  This man needs no introduction, he has countless releases out spanning not only DrumnBass, but also Dubstep (usually as Balkansky) and Techno/House (as Drum Kid).  He graces us with three forward-thinking DnB monsters on this EP, both 'Nedal' and 'Drub' representing usual Cooh styles going dark, bleak, and banging.  The third tune - 'Back' - shows us altogether a different side of Cooh, and is an example of the artistic range that we will be showcasing on all of our artist EPs.  Plenty here to rock the floor, and a bit of something different for good measure!

Note also the painting called 'Lung' that was used in the artwork for this EP was made by none other than the multi-talented man himself - Ivan Shopov.

The highly prolific, prodigal dark horse of the Tsunami Audio stable of artists returns with a slew of fiercely unique and forward-thinking musical monstrosities - Rakoon is back!  And from the shadows he emerges with his distinctly personal brand of madly percussive beats and colorfully detailed productions.  This is amalgamated mutant Dubstep of the highest caliber, processing influences from all across the musical spectrum, and it comes to you in two volumes of four tracks each.  

From The Shadows Vol.1 starts off with "Still Alive", and, as the title suggests, it reaffirms our belief that Rakoon is indeed human and not some cyborg beat-making machine.  We have had our doubts in the past, but frankly if his output is as sinister and menacing and whirling-dervish type of mental as this, then we don't really care.  "Decode" keeps the menace, expands on it with some glitchy edits, and serves everything up on a funky, head-nodder of a riddim.  "Monsoon", on the other hand, adds a touch of Techno to the equation and reinforces the beat with some classic Breakbeat samples.  Lastly, "Plague" goes back into frenzy mode, dominated by insane percussion and uneasy, disharmonic synth edits.

From The Shadows Vol.1 effectively demonstrates that Rakoon is on top of his game, and generally way ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving realm of Bass Music.  Where trends fade quickly into musical obscurity, Rakoon stands strong with a sound both bold and unique.  Vol.2 will follow soon!

Bringing back the old skool sounds we've been missing in the new generation of Dubstep, Requake spoils us with four thick slabs of stripped-down perfection on their debut Tsunami Audio release.  We start things off in fine style with 'Near Reality', a steppy dirtfunk monster, ready to melt your bassbins with its no-nonsense retro-wobble vibes.  Title track 'Fatality' brings a second helping of this hot mess to those craving more, but adds a more aggressive midbass section to the mix.  The sub sounds here literally ooze out of your speakers, it's like the bass blob has come to take over the world!  'Protagonist' interrupts the program with its funky, yet militant marching vibes, utilizing bare-minimum percussion, intense triplet hihat patterns and a huge, seriously skanked-out subbass line.  'Anti Social' keeps the vibe more subtle and dubwise with the help of some sexy sax riffs and a hint of melodic goodness, but - as always - doesn't fail to let the bass set the pace.  All over the place.  In typical Requake fashion.  For an encore, Mr.Boogie closes out the party with a bang on his 'Fatality Remix', using his trademark bassline science and funked-out percussion to exact some serious dancehall damage. Placed on top of an enormous walking subbass foundation and a lazy half-step beat, the result is a laid-back but vicious and highly infectious banger.  Finally, "Too Deep To Go Back" takes us all the way into the deepest of spaces by mixing haunting vocal samples with demented sine tone manipulations and copious amounts of reverb to produce an epic, moving piece of alien music.

Brighton UK's Marchmellow brings us his slick, sexy Tsunami Audio debut - the "Next to You EP".  Title track "When I'm Next To You" starts things off with a r&amp;b-tinged silky smooth vocal, adds a bit of purply melodic goodness, and backs it all up with the heaviest of dub basslines.  This one's a grinder, a jumper, and a pure sexy beast.  "Let Go" settles us in with proper shuffling percussion, dub horns and an uplifting synth arp to compliment the ample low end, resulting in an irresistable dancefloor groover.  "Just Bounce For Me"... well, the title says it all - bouncy tech vibes stripped down with heavy snares, rumbling low-end and a distorted mechanoid midbass combine to bring you yet another smart dancefloor banger.  Finally, "Jeez" brings this infinitely danceable EP to a close in fine fashion, with probably the heaviest, most distorted bassline we've heard in many moons.  This one's so dirty, you're gonna need to shower with dish soap to get off all the grime this track lays on ya!  But that's our modus operandi here at Tsunami Audio, we supply the massive tunes, you worry about cleaning yourselves up afterwards!
