This cover started from September of last year, but suspended a long time awhile. Till now I decide to finish it.
This one is also the most difficult work I ever to cover, the original music played guitar solo phrases almost all over the time. But it's also a great achievement when I’m done!
Personally I re-arranged bass into walking bass, the rhythm is interesting with those percussion, hope you guys likes too.

Revision: 
Changed Battery 4 (a drum machine host my DPCM samples) into MPL's RS5K extension (a REAPER JS extension).
For the lead melody, MIDI Delay (to simulate fade & breathing or something, the gap between two legato phrase in real instruments perform) and Duty Cycle Variation (to simulate guitar wah-effect) are used to imitate the performance of the lead guitar and keyboard synthesizers; another attempt was made to use the SID-6581 PWM generator to play the rhythm guitar of the original song — which is a compromise, as the square wave tone would have fought badly, producing phase distortion and other unwanted artifacts.
Overall the shortcomings of this work, Using Chiptune sounds to imitate rhythm guitar is still too much effort, as well as in this song there’s no any arpeggio textures — which should be the strengths of the chip tone generator.

Found the melody so catchy after work around the chorus section! I feel like it's on par with Recollection — my most favorite song of this album. 
The two PWM channels seemed too monotonous for rhythm guitar harmonies (the distorted guitar harmonics of the original song are rich in themselves, but the parallel fourths and fifths of the metal chords would have discord badly). So I managed use one PWM channel to play arpeggio textures occasionally instead.

无论是原曲还是 TFT 翻唱版本，乐队实录存在大量变速给扒带带来了很大的挑战性，期间也参考了油管上的钢琴版本的速度参数。
后面发现 TFT 的速度在 193 BPM 比较稳定（少量的变化可以用 DAW 的弹性伸缩来矫正），于是主要参考了 THE FIRST TAKE 乐队的翻唱版本进行扒带和适度改编。这个版本也比 DOES 的原曲速度略快。
由于原曲伴奏基本上是由一把节奏吉他担当，如果两个方波通道还是构成柱式和弦就太单调了，稍微做了点趣味性修改。
主旋律方面大幅参考了主唱的转音颤音细节争取做到还原。

下面是一些感叹。
一晃眼 30 岁了，我第一次看《银魂》是高一那时加入的文学部，我在那里遇到了很多好朋友，其中有一位女生用 MP4 播放器看的就是银魂，成功把我带入坑。
我们当地春季会有很长的下雨天和阴天，我骑自行车往返学校与家的路上会用 MP4 播放这首原曲，我当时很讨厌下雨天，不只是没法骑车；就算是毛毛雨天气，自行车后面的挡泥板不好用，会把泥水甩到我的后背，弄脏我的外衣。
时光飞逝，扒带这个作品让我想起了学生时代。

Whether it's the original song or the TFT cover version, there are a lot of tempo unstable in the band's recording, which made it very challenging to cover, and during the process, I also referred to the tempo parameters of the piano version on the YouTube.

I found that TFT's tempo was relatively stable at 193 BPM (with a few variations that could be corrected by the elasticity stretch function of the DAW), so I mainly used the cover version by THE FIRST TAKE for the reference. This version is also slightly faster than the DOES original.

Since the original accompaniment was basically a rhythm guitar, it would have been too monotonous if the two square wave channels still formed a column chord, so it was modified a little bit for fun.

The main melody has been greatly referenced to the lead vocal’s modifiers and vibrato details in an effort to restore it.

Here are a few notes.

I'm 30 years old now, and the first time I watched Gintama was when I joined the Literature Department in my freshman year of high school, where I met a lot of good friends, and one of them was a girl who watched Gintama on her MP4 player, and that got me into it.

We had long rainy and cloudy days in the spring in my area, and I used to play the original song on my MP4 when I rode my bike between school and home. I hated rainy days at the time, not only because I couldn't ride my bike, but also because the fenders on the back of my bike didn't work very well in rainy days, and it would fling mud and water onto my back and stain my coat.

This stuff reminds me of my student days. How time flies.
