i made it a drone in f, with the electric piano exploring the f lydian sharp 9 scale. made with kontakt in reaper, adding plenty of reverb and some tape saturation.

after a hiatus due to computer problems, i am picking up my series of vcv rack experiments again, and combined today's patch with the naviar haiku challenge: http://www.naviarrecords.com/2018/05/16/naviarhaiku228-a-snail/

i started out making a simple patch that aims to be musically pleasing. i used the turing machine to generate notes, which are quantized into a mixolydian scale. this then triggers rings, the resonator, as our sound source.

i added a second channel for sound processing with clouds as granular delay and reverb. the patch also uses caudal as chaotic lfo for modulation.

the vcv rack output was then sent to reaper for some further processing, most importantly more reverb and shimmer.

Me And The Submarine

i'm using this account to post my vcv rack experiments, that i'm making as part of a 50 day challenge. i will post an experiment most days of the week, until i get to a total of 50.

vcv rack is a free and open source software emulation of a eurorack modular synthesizer, with many modules contributed freely by the community.

as much as i can, i will also post videos on my youtube channel explaining my experiments.

all my music is released under a cc-by-sa license (unless i use samples licensed differently), which means you can download and reuse my music for your own use, add to it, remix it, mangle it, as long as you publish it under the same license.
