Dragom Quest, or Dragon Warrior as it was known im its early days in the west, is a long running series of JRPGs published by Enix and now belongs to Square Enix. This piece is from the monsters rpg spinoffs that came out in the late 90s and can be heard while traveling the overworld. I found the melody to be both beautiful and haunting, so I learned it straightaway upon hearing it for the first time.

I was inspired one day to write lyrics to the music of Kakarico, a recurring village in the legend of zelda adventure game series published by Nintendo, so while on vacation, I imagined myself as the hero, Linnk, and thought about all of the adventures that his various incarnations have been through, and about what must have been going through his mind as he frequented the village and interacted with the locals. There are others who have written for this piece of music by composer Koji Kondo, and this is my contribution to a long running series with consistently wonderful music. I will probably re-record this with proper instrumentation in time, but for now, its just me, a baby grand and a very small audience.

This cover is based off the performance by Michael w Smith and his team bear the end of his album entitled Worship. When I was off studying at school, I met a custodian who was a hundred times more talented than me. We both have a love for the Lord, and we both had a deep appreciation for worship music, but I was into contemporary christian music, and he was into gospel, so our styles really contrasted with one another. In spite of that, we always loved to hear each other sing and play. I let him borrow a few of my cds, and though he wasn't much for the music I had at the time, he really took a liking to the song in this recording, and it wasn't long before he himself started playing this song with that gospel style of his and it sounded so cool! He had an influence on how I played as well, because after hearing him play so often, I started trying to play like him, and people started telling me that I reminded them of him whenever they heard me play Amazing Grace. You can hear that for yourself by checking out my uploaded recording of amazing grace. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this old favorite of mine.

I used to love this song when I was a child, and not just this song, but a very particular version of this song. Eben after all these years, it remains a timeless classic, and so too the message therein. This is my contribution to the song's countless covers, but I tried to spice it up a little bit to give it some flavor. Please enjoy! Merry Christmas!

I recorded backing tracks on my keyboard, added steel string acoustic guitar accompaniment, sang lead and backup, and for the first time my electric guitar gets in on the spotlight as I utilize techniques I have been studying. I decided to arrange this old song to be played with 2 guitars, so I take up both parts using a classical. Timing is very difficult without a conductor or the proper tools but I gave it the old college try, recording both parts live.

Here is a little something I recorded to show that I haven't entirely abandoned music. It is a small exercise of me playing melody and accompaniment on one guitar, ... except I don't have names for the pieces featured in this set. :P The melody in the a section is from a random game I played on a vg pocket tablet around 2006 or so. It was arranged using a synthesized guitar, so this is an aproximation of what it sounded like, based on my memory. If anyone knows its name, please tell, because I would love to hear the original, and know the composer. The melody in the b section is something I thought up, but has its origins in an old nes game called Daydreaming Dave. Who knows, perhapse it came from there as well. This is a cover of a song performed by Michael W Smith on his album entitled Worship Again. I used 2 guitars to simulate the way in which the song was sung, that is, with multiple voices in unison on the melody, whilst the remaining strings accompanied with the appropriate chords. One guitar has standard tuning,, while the other is capoed at the 7th fret for the higher notes,, so i essentially had to play the song in 2 different keys. This song, along with the remainder of the album, I absolutely love, so I tried to do it justice, and hope you enjoy the recording.

Twenty years ago, while I was away at school, some of the staff, students and I went Christmas caroling for a few of the nursing homes around the area. This was one of the songs we sung. This is another step in improving my skills at the guitar, playing in an unfamiliar key, making extensive use of the pinkie, and utilizing the minor pentatonic to pick out a major melody. With this knowledge, I learned a new song in keeping with the season, playing both melody and accompaniment

One of my favorite shonin anime to come out in the last 20 years is Naruto, and I was absolutely thrilled when it finally began to be localized into English. A standout characteristic of the show and games is the excellent music, of which this is one such track, often heard when the show reaches an emotional low point. This is my cover, using recently acquired tools as a Christmas gift. Please enjoy.

This song came out over 60 years ago, but its words are as applicable today as they were the day it was pened, to the one who is always wanting more, but never has enough, too afraid to commit to someone im hopes of someone better, but they never come, and I think thats why I really like it, in spite of it being  before my time. Also, The Eagles are one of my fav bands from that erra, so perhapse i might do more covers from them if i feel inspired to do so. Here I am on keyboard and singing the lead, with backing vocals. Its not perfect, but its all I have time and strength for at the moment. Enjoy.

Here is a cleaner recording of a piece I uploaded a couple years ago, played with more consistency and confidence. Below is the original description for the song.
This piece, originally composed by Martha Mier, is one of the earliest pieces to be added to my mental repertoire. It is the first piece I remember being proud of learning back when my parents were putting me through 4 years of piano lessons, for which I am eternally grateful. I remember there being a tallent show back im 7th grade im which a friend and I would be performing in. It was cool, because we got to skip out on 3 periods to watch the rest of the show as it was being put on for the 6th, 7th and 8th graders separately. We had a blast just hanging out and quietly chatting and joking around, but we were respectful and didn't cause any interruptions for the other performers, who all did excellently that day. My friend was performing Beethoven's For Elise, but for the first two periods he would only play a portion of the song. I really wanted to hear the whole thing, though, and asked him to play it, to which he said that he was lazy and didn't want to do it. Not thinking that he would actually follow through, I made a deal with him that if he played the whole song, I would give him Clay Fighter for the Snes, to which he finally agreed. Thus, he played the whole song quite nicely for the last group of students, and I followed through with my end of the bargain. This was the song that I performed for the tallent show that day, and that is the memory which I associate with it.

This is a cover of the music box melody for Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2, a fighting game based on the Naruto manga and anime. It was released on Playstation portable during the late 2000s, and plays as the game's icon is highlighted, just before you boot it up. The song has been haunting me since I heard it a few years ago, so I finally decided to hammer it out. I couldn't quite get the sound of the music box to match that of the game, but its pretty close. Everything else, from the notes to the melody playing off each other on both the left and right are near accurate. The song fits the rather melancholic story really well, and I had a lot of fun recording it.

This song by Diamond Rio came out at such a perfect time, while I was in high school, trying to come to terms with having to lose friends that were close to me at the time. Its also a very fitting memorial song for reflecting and remembering loved ones who have since left this world. For these reasons, it is very special to me. This time I just decided to find a karaoke track with background vocals and sing the lead, using the digital audio work station in my keyboard to record the performance. I don't think it came out too terribly in comparison to other stuff I've uploaded, so I will likely cover more country style songs in the future. Meanwhile, please enjoy the song, and thank you very much for listening.

Born and raised in the states, I was brought up  to appreciate music from an early age. I got my first Yamaha keyboard at around 5 years, owned various keyboards, organs and a piano since, and took 4 years of classical piano lessons during grade school. Later on, I joined my high school and college choirs, and thus was exposed to a variety of music in different languages, gaining performing experience along the way. After high school, I started trying to learn the guitar on my own, using instructional tapes, cds, and online videos. I was inspired to do so, firstly, by a close friend who began his own journey into learning the instrument, and secondly, because none of the keyboards I owned could replicate the sound of a real guitar, which I really love. Thus, all of those recordings of different instruments I have uploaded are a result of the accumulated training i got over the years. Most of the music i arrange and play are done by ear, because I have been blind since birth, and don't really habe a way to read the music sheets and tabs in an accessible format, though I am adequately versed in music theory. Occasionally, I write my own music, and besides that, I also write poetry and short fiction. I habe written 1 choose your own adventure game in Twine as well. On my off time, I enjoy reading, watching movies and anime, chatting with friends, writing helpful articles, and playing videogames. I am a non-denominational Christian, and love my family, friends, and even those who would consider themselves my enemy. Among the few things I hate are lies, deception, hypocrisy, and pity. I have been through a number of hardships, and still bear some of their scars, but in spite of that, I'm still trying to maintain an optimistic outlook on life. Thank you for reading til the end.
