In November, we are recognizing the place and importance of our Native American (indigenous) people. Our 10:00 AM service on November 26th , is designed to deepen our understanding of the Sacred Hoop though a direct experience of the voices and gifts of representatives of the Mohawk, Algonquin, Paugussett, Schaghticoke, and Cherokee nations.

Grandmother Nancy Andry and Rev. Jim Francek will be facilitating this experience along with the help of a new committee in formation known as “Mending the Sacred Hoop”. We hope you will plan on attending!

On April 21st we will gather to remember and value the gift of nature that has gifted us with life and continues to sustain us each day with warmth, oxygen, water, and nourishment.


Our service will include a teaching on interdependence entitled “THE THREE SISTERS” from Grandmother Nancy Andry a storyteller, pipe carrier and sun dancer of the Algonquin nation. Pat Francek will share a poem capturing the beauty and inspiration provided by nature. Lindy Hennessey will give witness to the direct gift of earth she has received. Raleigh Padgett flute and drum maker of the Cherokee nation will share his inspiring sounds. Rev. Jim Francek, our community minister, will share his heart felt inspiration on RECIPROCITY… the basis of our relationship to Mother Earth. Our closing will bring the sounds of the heartbeat of Mother Earth gifted us by our native participants.

All donations will go to “Medicine Wheel Ride” (https://www.medicinewheelride.org/)– an Indigenous MMIW advocacy non-profit organization.

We all are invited to bring flowers to share to symbolize the diversity of our community. Then we take a flower that someone else brought. Rev. Erik Paul, conductor, will lead us in music that opens our hearts and encourages each of us to kindle individual commitments to racial justice.
