Tully on Tully have gone back to basics with their new single ‘Two Birds’. With floating synthesisers as a foundation, the simple melodies are complimented by an interesting rhythmic structure calling back to yesteryear. 

The ‘Two Birds’ in the title of the song references a couple struggling to keep their romance alive. As an attempt to save their relationship, they begin stepping into new territories only to find that their adventures have the potential to destroy them. 

Teaming up with producer Tony Buchen (The Preatures, Andy Bull, Loon Lake), Tully on Tully have created a song that holds your heart in its hand with a slightly clenched fist before finally letting it go and allowing the immense wall of sound to fill your body with joy and a sense of release.


Two Birds

The new single from Tully on Tully, ‘All These Words’, is an exploration of nostalgia; of days past that leave a distinct impression on us. It’s about those times when inhibitions fade and sexuality knows no boundaries, and the realization that feelings of emptiness will come to shape who you are. 

Teaming up with esteemed producer Tony Buchen (Andy Bull, The Preatures) the Melbourne five piece recorded ‘All These Words’, a first taste of their forthcoming EP release. ‘Miles Away’ is the new single from Tully on Tully, an 80's-inspired power pop labyrinth of atmospheric synth, thundering drums and powerful guitar. Combined with front woman Natalie Foster's stunning trademark vocals, fusing wrenching intimacy and anthemic boldness.

Inspired by their recent overseas adventures through the US, Canada and Singapore, ‘Miles Away’ draws upon simultaneous feelings of exhilaration and terror in the face of new freedoms and opportunities.

Written abroad, Tully on Tully brought their ideas and experiences back to their home studio in Brunswick, Melbourne where the band pieced together the track before heading out to record at The Basin Recording Studios. 

‘Miles Away’ is set to appear on the self-produced EP by the same name set for release late 2015.

Delicate yet intricate. Tully On Tully are Melbourne based five piece that deliver raw, honest alt pop narratives. Heartfelt melodies and powerful, refreshing vocals Tully On Tully, fronted by Natalie Foster, are a new distinctive flavour to the pallet of indie-pop.

On the touring front 2014 has seen the band perform at St Kilda Festival, Apollo Bay Music Festival and overseas at Canadian Music Week, Music Matters, Singapore as well as shows in New York.

A live show described as mesmerizing by Australian critics, Tully On Tully have played with the likes of Mia Dyson, Cub Sport, Whitley, Hayden Calnin, Jeremy Neale and Tigertown.

No strangers to international touring, Tully On Tully have performed in Singapore, North America and alongside The Temper Trap at Manila’s Wanderland festival in 2013. Earlier that year Tully on Tully were thrilled to take out the triple j Unearthed competition to play the Sidney Myer Music Bowl for Push Over Festival.

Mid 2013 saw the debut release of their five track EP Weightless which was featured across radio at DIG and Triple R. Single ‘Naked’ was added to rotation on triple j and Tully on Tully wound up in the top 50 most played artists on triple j Unearthed. Featuring Hayden Calnin, ‘Stay’ also received Inpress Magazine’s single of the week status.

Currently writing and recording for their follow up release, Tully On Tully are excited to be confirmed for 2014’s Big Sound.
