Modular ambient track created with the setup shown.  Stochastic Inspiration Generator is sequencing a 4ms Ensemble Oscillator, MSW micro Plaits, and Qu-Bit Surface with lots of reverb from a Strymon Starlab and ALA Typhoon.  uPlaits is running through the Strymon Magneto for some dubs delays with lots of feedback at times.  I'm also using an Instruo Lubadh tape looper to sample the Starlab output to create some background atmosphere.  You hear it in the repetitive tidbits.  Hope you like it.

Spring

Demonstration of Kermit Mark III's tempo synced modulators. 4 channels are patched into the other modules while tempo division, channel amplitude, and waveform are performed. Other modules are Industrial Music Electronics Voice (Hertz Donut, Piston Honda, Bionic Lester), some reverb, and a persistent 80bpm kick drum.

Explorations Volume 1 is a collection of 13 tracks, each created start to finish in a single sitting. No second takes, no do-overs, just stream of consciousness music.

Exploration 40

A cover version of Rush's The Camera Eye from the Moving Pictures album. This is one of my very favorite songs and was a real challenge to learn and record.  I used the stem tracks for drums and vocals, but everything else you hear besides drums and vox is played by me. In addition to the two stem tracks I added 27 additional audio tracks to complete this.

- Synths sounds and sound effects are from a Korg Kronos
- Bass is a Stranderg Boden Prog 5 string
- Main guitar is a Music Man Majesty
- Kiesel California Arch Top Custom was also used for the clean guitar parts
- Recorded in Studio One 4
- No sequencers. No midi.
- I did use the original "traffic" sound effects at the very beginning as well as the guitar feedback sound at the very end

The Camera Eye - Rush cover

OK This is a long one, but is quite dynamic.  It starts with a self generating ambient sound from Arturia's Pigments 2.  It then goes into a chill kind of jam with Taurus Pedals providing the low bass drone, the Korg Kronos providing the the electric piano sound and I played the Novation Summit for the lead.  This lead was improvised in one take.  It then goes back to full ambient where it fades from the Pigments self generating patch into a different self generating patch on the Hydrasynth.  It then kicks it up a notch with a nice long synth solo on the Moog Subsequent 37.  It ends with the Hydrasynth fading back into the Pigments patch.

Huge credit goes to Red Means Recording whose tutorial for creating self generating patches inspired this tune.  The Hydrasynth patch is based on his tutorial.
