Happy Holidays! ❆⋆꙳•☃︎꙳•✩ We’re capping off an amazing year of Workout Sets with Brooklyn-based artist @madgetunes. 

A beloved member of the hyperpop scene, Madge specializes in dark, left-of-center pop tunes. Last month, they dropped their new album BOXJAR, which features names like @portugaltheman, @girlimusic, @lecxstacy, @cmten, & @carpet_garden. They’re also known for their songwriting credits and collaborations with @slayyyter, Pussy Riot & @kaskade. 

Their high-energy mix for Strawberry Western is a blend of pop bangers, exciting mashups, and club anthems - all filtered through Madge’s distinct, edgy aesthetic. 

On their mix, they say, “I live in Brooklyn so I stay active by default. I also do yoga almost everyday. The mix I made is equal parts cute and dark and loud - something that describes my own artist project pretty succinctly.”

Workout Set #13: Madge

Happy new year! We’re kicking off the 2024 mix series with @sw0rdes, the Honolulu-bred, Brooklyn-based artist/producer known for her hypnotic electronic pop compositions. 

After releasing a handful of singles and touring with @alice-longyu-gao, Swordes is getting ready to release her debut album Mitosis - a 90s-era homage sure to expand on her harrowing art pop sound! 

Her Workout Set is a perfect winter mix: opening with a Fiona Apple classic before going into a blend of icy club bangers and blog-house ear-worms. 

On her mix, Swordes says, “I’ve realized I actually hate gyms and exercising so I try to stay fit through my daily routine. I bike almost every day, even in the wintertime. I also go pretty hard on the dance floor which feels like insane cardio. At my home studio, I could be on the computer for hours working on music so I always stretch every few hours.”
