How can a respected indie songwriter peson find a reputable sync agent? I was offered  multiple licensing deals by supposedly reputable music libraries & agents. They always wanted every song on records. One library fed very successful soap operas & later rereleases of movies.The deals were  legally unappealing.Often retitled the song. Always grabbed rights  they shouldn't have-all the same rights i owned in the originally titled songs... I caught it when i read the contract, and my lawyer agreed with me. The libraries responded that i should have my attorney rewrite the unattractive clause...The libraries approved, then we both signed. In both cases shortly later each library sent me an addenedum that used  different wording to grab the same  rights  i refused to allow in the first place.t The accompanying letter stated that i had 30 or 60 days to sign the addendum or i woul'd be dropped. Of course i did not sign... i also had a lot of contracts offered me that were 1000% dishonest.

I keep hitting pause so I can take notes. Lots of useful info, and Cathy Heller is always inspiring to listen to! Thank you for this episode!

This is the most amazing guidance I have found on the subject of sync licensing. I am late to the game and have two songs on TuneCore, and no hits/leads yet. This info definitely provides energy to my dream of pursuing songwriting as a career. Thank you Liam and Cathy for taking time to convey your experiences and provide tips to help the little people.
