"Life grows in the Desert"

ATLAS, as it entails, is a music album sensitively built as a journey and invitation to travel, in all senses the word may inspire. 
A narrative devoid of words, through 8 instrumental songs infused by multiple timeless influences and sprinkled with a pinch of modern electronic flavorings.
This genre-liberated act finds, or rather openly searches for its cohesive balance revolving around a common ground, a rendezvous point that is the Desert, its eternal stakes and realities present on every continent (even beyond Earth!), as well as all imaginaries and symbolisms associated to it. 
Suitably, ATLAS' pivotal music inspiration becomes apparent with the "Assouf" blues style of the Touareg nomads, a consciously open tribute towards the many great musicians of the Sahara like "Tinariwen".

This marks the first full album emerging from the effort of artists duo of brothers "Tune In" (Strasbourg, France), having worked through the past 10+ years as producers, composers, players of instruments with countless international artists and labels, tastefully covering an ever surprising wide array of musical genres and esthetics.

Be it in association with straight pop acts (Paloma Faith), crossover pop singers (Matisyahu), Reggae artists (Sizzla, Chezidek, Omar Perry…) , with long-term ally, the versatile Sudanese rising star Dynamq, or through inventive Remixes - and even more recently, with the successful release of electro-swing track "Bangalore Swing" at the invitation of the UK leading label in that field, the Tune In crew has never kept away from experimenting, embracing music styles from all horizons, echoing either their deeply rooted personal heritage or their rich meetings of circumstances.

"Atlas" comes together as the fruit and reflection of this thorough path, entirely designed by Tune In crew, the two brothers Harry Veynand & Xavier Veynand : from composing, playing all instruments, producing, all the way to crafting the hand-drawn album artwork and managing this independent release. It is part of the album "Op'ra Dub Style", where Dub music meets Opera, brought by tenor singer Uly Neuens and his team @audioart-music , alongside various international producers.

Story:
The initiative is brought by one of a kind character, french opera tenor Uly E. Neuens (based in Hamburg-Germany) who integrates his lyrical chant into Reggae and Dub Music.

This intriguing approach formed up in a meeting of non-academic spirit and prestigious academic experiences.

"Uly", while in training as a tenor at the late age of 30, found himself drawn into a tour with a choir that became the now world renown "Les Musiciens du Louvre" conducted by Marc Minkowski.
Then were launched 10 years of an impressive number of performances everywhere from Shangai to Madrid, among world class companies "Opéra National de Lyon" and "Opéra comique" with conductor Jérome Savary.

Yet the tenor wishes to build a bridge with more popular music, and this led to his 2012 first attempt with a genre he's always been passionate about: Reggae Music.

With fellow musician Moussa Sfeir, they form the duo "AudioArt".
They adapt old gregorian chant lyrics chosen based on their echo beyond religious connotation. Uly chose Latin partly because such classic texts are translated in almost every languages.

Producers from various countries were reached and played along, leading to the 14 tracks of this first album.

Don't Go Go

"Still waters run deep." 

Through the creation of this song, the aspiration was essentially to let ourselves be driven by chance on several levels. Thus, we played and recorded many instruments and percussions, with a focus on instinct and little to no preparation, accepting the random, seemingly approximative, and most of all lively nature of it. 
As a result, most of the track was built upon bringing together those unexpected pieces we had gathered.

Still Waters

While in the middle of many musical experiments, this song came in with its light tone, something simple and colorful underlined by heavy rhythms.

With this song, the driving idea was to create space for a conversation between the vocals by singer Dynamq and the instruments' melodies. 
This way we aim at the elegance of a certain restraint, to serve our vision of Popular music.

While giving it an innovative take on Reggae, we made it coexist with key instrumental elements and a spirit directly inspired from roots music, which we see as the breathing force of the song.
At the core of it, something essentially playful and heartfelt.

Bangalore Swing

With this track we wanted to explore a different kind of Pop music, reminiscent of the desert, the wind, evoking a fresh start.
This gave the opportunity to go back to traditional genres we love, and give it a renewed energy.
