This is a fairly simple composition but it took a long time to get everything mixed the way I wanted. It might be more pitch bends than your average X3 track has, but oh well.

I'm impressed with that incredible display, the absolute carnage!
I haven't seen a fight like that for millennia!
I broke free of that a long time ago, but I had no desire to rip it apart. It amused me that it continued a task that had already failed.
The sheer will and hatred that kept me living after the forces of heaven struck me down vanished after a short time, I once aspired to destroy all of heaven and hell, but when I gained the power to do so, I realized that it would accomplish nothing.... so here I stand, waiting for something to give me a glorious end.
I sense a kindred spirit in you. Perhaps not the same reason to do so, but the ever burning desire to destroy anything and everything.
You managed to defeat Minos and Sisyphus, perhaps you can put an end to me too.
An honorable duel, shall we?

Symphony once led a war against heaven, hoping to destroy it, then turn back to hell and lay waste to it too, and eventually return to the surface to rehabilitate. The army did not make it far before Gabriel stepped in with the other archangels and incinerated her with holy fire, then proceeded to do the same to her supporters. After being reincarnated as a prime soul, she quickly broke out of her flesh prison, though found herself depressed and her burning hatred quickly died out.

Symphony is the only prime soul to use modern weaponry, she carries a revolver of the same model as V1, likely stolen off of another machine, after all. She also carries a rapier. Both of which she enhances with the hellish fire she now commands. (After all, if a gun can take down the other prime souls, why not use it?)

Metroid (1986) and Metroid Prime

The Metroid series is probably 2nd favorite video game franchise from Nintendo (the first being The Legend of Zelda). I always wanted to arrange this tune but held back because I didn't know how to approach it. The best arrangement I've heard of this tune was from Metroid Metal (Stemage) years ago. I wanted to avoid doing a "metal" version because there are already so many metal covers of Metroid (and other games) and Stemage did it best. I was hit with inspiration while listening to Sigur Ros' "Takk" (always loved the sound of that album) during rush hour here in LA, Cali. The rest fell into place.
