Oh that's a sleek beauty of an art cover choice! Love the sharp nose on it--Perhaps a subliminal message for sharp knows-(jnana)! I shouldn't touch this, the picture gives warning of the seduction, but the killer after effects of swelling & haemotoxic damage is alluring when masked by vivid appearance--LOL!! I thought of scales because the piece's progression is based on a translateral movement from scale to scale (actually, tonalities). I thought of scales because of animals changing skin. What do we do - we, growing humans? I thought of not epidermic - but of profound change, transformation, transfiguration. That I think of it does not mean I represent it or express it at all. But it's there. And all I say, in the end, is I like your voice.

Arctica ein längst verschollener Kontinent aus der frühen Erdgeschichte.

Die Menschheit ist nur ein Wimpernschlag auf diesem Planeten. 
Wer weiß ob die Spuren unseres Daseins verschollen sein werden wie dieser alte Kontinent „ARCTICA“

Der Name Arctica wurde 1996 von John J. W. Rogers vorgeschlagen.
Er wählte den Namen Arctica, weil sich zu einer wesentlich späteren Zeit der Arktische Ozean durch diesen hypothetischen Kontinent hindurch öffnete.

ARCTICA als erdgeschichtlicher Kontinent entstand vor etwas 2,5 Milliarden Jahren.
Arctica könnte damit aus dem nochtetwas älteren Kenorland durch Akkretion des Wyoming-Kratons und den zwei sibirschen Kratonen und den Rae- und Nain-Komplexen in Grönland entstanden sein.

Arctica a long-lost continent from early Earth's history.

Humanity is just a blink of an eye on this planet.
Who knows if the traces of our existence will be lost like this old continent "ARCTICA"

The name Arctica was suggested by John J.W. Rogers in 1996.
He chose the name Arctica because at a much later time the Arctic Ocean opened through this hypothetical continent.

ARCTICA as a geological continent arose about 2.5 billion years ago.
Arctica could thus have formed from the somewhat older Kenorland by accretion of the Wyoming craton and the two Siberian cratons and the Rae and Nain complexes in Greenland.

A real pleasure to present to you perhaps the strangest song I have ever collaborated on. Gary simply sent me a line of prose to be used as an acrostic, where each word is the beginning of a line of lyrics. Nothing else. Blank canvas. The original words are "Show Those Ones You Love That They Are Adored Fully, Encompassed Within My Daily Thoughts Are Peaceful Intentions Towards Them All"

He asked me to make up some lyrics and a melody, any key, then to sing the tune to a click track and he would do the rest. To top it off the title of the song is acronymous - ACRONYM standing for the full title, which is "A collaborative record of nostalgia, yearning (&) memories"

I did my usual trick of slapping something down, nipping to Bruges to check that the Trappist Monks were still making beer to my rigorous personal standards and leaving all the heavy lifting to him. Through an elaborate ritual of digital ceremonial magic, electronic alchemy, Job-like patience and wiffle dust he has produced this. Fascinating how he uses tonal and atonal harmony to create tension, power and release, matching it so well to the emotion of the words.

The lyrics are a paean to family and friends, his, mine, yours, ours.

De acordo com o computador, seremos um par perfeito.
E eu marco um primeiro encontro 
no café mais mais fino e mais chique de Lisboa,
o Café do Chá Sem Defeito.

Aguardo com curiosidade, para ver no que é que tudo isto vai dar.
Será que encontros às cegas podem ser bem sucedidos?
Duvido... Mas não custa nada tentar.

É estranho que essa mulher linda, que entra para falar comigo, 
precise de algum programa
para localizar um drama, para encontrar algum amigo.
É estranho, muito estranho...

Mas a conversa corre bem, até ela perguntar 
se, sabendo o que aí vem,
vale a pena procriar, trazer filhos para miséria, 
para o colapso sublunar,
que é fruto duma cobiça tão funérea.

Respondo, num tom mais duro,
se ela quer ficar para tia
pode negar o futuro, pode negar a magia.
Mas eu sou um tecnocrata. 
Mesmo quando ela me mata, eu amo a tecnologia.

E ela grita, violenta, como posso eu ser tão vil
para amar o ocidente, e esse horrível acidente
cheio do raio da actividade, de mentira e de maldade,
que aconteceu em Chernobil.

E ela atira a mesa ao chão, e sai a barafustar.
Olho os estragos e o patrão do café, que me diz:
"Lamento, amigo. Lamento. 
É chato, é muito chato, mas vai ter mesmo de pagar."

E, entre as certezas no chão e as perguntas no ar,
ficam questões, que a razão não vê maneira de explicar.
