When Turbo A&R sign a new artist, take note. The Montreal label that broke @Gesaffelstein , @dukedumont , @azariandiii , and even @chromeo have a proven track record for discovering the next big thing in electronic music. This time around it’s 22 year old Ferdous Dehzad, from a small town outside Eindhoven.

The four-track debut showcases the young DJ’s versatility and production prowess. Title track ‘Acid Habits’ sounds like golden-era M_nus, you can just see this wrecking Watergate on a great night. ‘End to End’ odes to @danielavery with marked precision, building and releasing with floor-filling skill. ‘I Believe U’ is a cool Euro-take on groovy Chicago house, while the final cut ‘Merino’ surprises with what is arguably the most potent track of all, a devastating roller of a track that has been punctuating some of @tiga ’s biggest sets this year. Massive!

Sometimes it seems like it could take a hundred years to fully enjoy the music for which Turbo is responsible for putting out for you to listen to for the purposes of fun and dancing, and this is one of those times. The label's masterminds have hand-picked and ear-vetted the top tracks from Turbo 101 to 125, a period spanning over two years and countless lives enriched on or near the world's dancefloors.

The best of the first 25 releases of the new Turbo Century features everyone from label chairman/bedman Tiga to world-cherished house darlings Azari & III to dark French electro prince Gesaffelstein, and showcases the roster's new cadre of emerging superstars like UK chart-topper Duke Dumont and young Scottish prodigies Clouds. The compilation also highlights the best of the label's oft-vaunted remix packs, with artists the caliber of Matthew Herbert, Jamie Jones, and Maceo Plex reworking Turbo artists.

The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
