Turbo Recordings bursts with pride at the mere thought of presenting its latest compilation of recent label highlights. Featuring Tiga, ZZT, Azari & III, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, Matthew Herbert, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont, Clouds, and many more.

Sometimes it seems like it could take a hundred years to fully enjoy the music for which Turbo is responsible for putting out for you to listen to for the purposes of fun and dancing, and this is one of those times. The label's masterminds have hand-picked and ear-vetted the top tracks from Turbo 101 to 125, a period spanning over two years and countless lives enriched on or near the world's dancefloors.

The best of the first 25 releases of the new Turbo Century features everyone from label chairman/bedman Tiga to world-cherished house darlings Azari & III to dark French electro prince Gesaffelstein, and showcases the roster's new cadre of emerging superstars like UK chart-topper Duke Dumont and young Scottish prodigies Clouds. The compilation also highlights the best of the label's oft-vaunted remix packs, with artists the caliber of Matthew Herbert, Jamie Jones, and Maceo Plex reworking Turbo artists.

For Week 4 of our 5 weeks of Pride colabs, we are in our home town of Berlin with Buttons. Today they bring us the second all vinyl set of the week with @shaunjwright

Shaun J. Wright grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, falling in love with house music during their teenage years. While studying at Morehouse College in Atlanta, they honed their skills as a dancer in both the vogue ballroom scene and professional dance companies. After earning an MA in Fashion Curation from the London College of Fashion, they worked in fashion in New York City, where they met Andrew Butler of Hercules and Love Affair in 2008 and joined the group as a vocalist.

In 2012, Wright returned to Chicago to focus on their solo career, teaming up with DJ and producer Alinka to launch the Twirl label and party series. As a DJ, they’ve brought their sound – often laced with live vocals – to dance floors around the world, from Sydney to Berlin to their hometown, where they’re a resident at Smartbar.

This set was recorded at home using vinyl only, with a vocal outro from Aérea Negrot & Longopus added digitally. The tracklist was inspired by warm Sunday afternoons playing in the Garten at Buttons – sunny, soulful, and full of feeling.

London-based artist Hilit Kolet returns to Rekids, collaborating with New York’s The Illustrous Blacks, the project formed by Manchildblack and Monstah Black, for the ‘Transatlantic Kiki’ EP, landing 29th August 2025 via Radio Slave’s Rekids. Legendary father-daughter duo Floorplan remix the single, with the release following up Kolet’s 2024 ‘Snap Talk’ EP, which won support from artists like Dam Swindle, Chloé Caillet, Bradley Zero, and more.

With lyrics that connect London and New York, ‘Transatlantic Kiki’ is a tough, funk-fueled roller true to Hilit Kolet’s signature production style, infused with an unmatchable personality via The Illustrous Blacks’ playful, vogue-like vocals. It’s hypnotic, bold, and irresistible, with the pair supplying a loopy ‘First Class’ mix that introduces vocal elements not featured in the original, amplifying the track’s qualities to hit even harder, and works the dancefloor into a sweat.

Robert and Lyric Hood, known together as Floorplan, remix Hilit Kolet & The Illustrous Blacks’ ‘Transatlantic Kiki’. Equally infectious as the original, they transform its rhythm into a drummy late-night cut. Stabs and vocal chops ride the groove, culminating in a proper lose-yourself-in-the-dance House cut that also comes with an instrumental version.

London’s Hilit Kolet came up through the former Soho Black Market Records shop, and has since become synonymous with the city’s House scene via releases on Defected, Snatch!, Domino, and Rekids, with a #1 debut on Music Week’s Upfront Club Chart and support from BBC Radio 1, Jamie Jones, HAAi, Skream, and more. Ganna Glass is a DJ who began her journey in the world of art and glass design but quickly discovered that true expression and connection happen for her on the dancefloor. She caught the techno bug a few years ago and has been diving deeper into the genre ever since – performing at nearly all of Poland’s most important clubs (Ciało, Transformator, Crackhouse, Schron, Jasna 1, KBar, Hocki Klocki) as well as at LAS Festival (Paczyn) and Labirynt Festival (Łódź). Although her DJ path began with techno, she gradually started exploring bass-driven sounds and house, which she now blends with ease into sets that take listeners to unexpected places. In 2025, she co-curated the techno stage at LAS Festival, shaping the musical experience as both a selector and curator. Outside of music, she’s passionate about movement – running, teaching yoga, and cycling. But it’s not just rhythm in motion that inspires her – it’s the stories and emotional landscapes within. Her sets are deeply personal journeys, woven with a strong sense of storytelling and musical narrative.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
