Auf Togo is the long-time collaboration between Sasa Crnobrnja and Clement Cachot-Coulom, who merge their sounds and experiences for their album, ‘Movements’ out 24th September via SaS Recordings. Inspired by the Cosmic disco sounds of the late 70’s/early 80’s, the 8-track LP skirts along the borders of electronic music, rock, funk and beyond. Through understanding and integration, the pair have come together on ‘Movements’ to present a body of work that is truly representative of their artistry.

Sasa and Clem, come from opposite worlds but share a deep respect for one another’s art. Sasa Crnobrnja originating from the deep, disco-laced house duo of In Flagranti (Kitsune, Phantasy, Gomma & more) and also Mytron & Ofofo (Les Yeux Orange) combines with, Clement Cachot-Coulom from bands The Fabulous Penetrators and Big Girls. Meeting in London around 2009, the pair have since developed a strong friendship and musical togetherness. In Sasa, Clem found someone who allowed him to explore a variation of styles and genres, breaking free of the creative shackles of songwriting for a band. 

“There was no masterplan for ‘Movements’, we just went about making music together in the way we would normally. We wanted to make people dance together in a club and bring together our shared musical interests, it was important to us with the album that it had a strong positive vibe underpinning the whole thing. We could envisage the tracks as Clem was playing the riffs and the album came together in the most natural way” – Auf Togo (Sasa Crnobrnja and Clement Cachot-Coulom)

As Auf Togo, they present a sound that echoes the richness and flavour of vintage recording equipment and instruments whilst holding the edge and sharpness of modern studio techniques. With this comes a loose, almost improvised sound that operates well within the rigid confines of house music, blurring the lines at every opportunity. With 4 successful releases already to their name, plus two well-received collaborations with duo Becker & Mukai, they now turn their attentions to the LP format to express their full eclecticism. 

From the louche Hawaiian jazz opening of ‘Along The Dotted Line’ to the psych-funk of ‘Pan Con Tomate’, and from the electronic wanderings of ‘Mexico’ to the cinematic intensity of closing ballad ‘Radical Departures’, the scope of ‘Movements’ is wide. Providing a captivating glimpse into the minds of Sasa and Clem, as it slides in tempo and pace, embracing an ever-expanding volume of styles and genres on its way. 

Unconventional in its production, stems and samples are extracted from Clement’s riffs and jams on guitar, bass and keys, all of which are then ultimately sown together by Sasa’s expert production skills. The result is ‘Movements’, representing elements of both artists. With tracks that fit both strongly within the club setting tied down by their raw, hypnotic grooves and absorbing songs that are suited to home-entertaining, the album is reinforced with a consistent positive energy. 

Offering a new proposition from the pair, ‘Movements’ is an invitation from Sasa & Clem to join them on their eclectic journey as Auf Togo. From 70’s psych-rock to Balearic Beats, from Space Disco to Afro Beat, this is an LP unashamed to wear its influences on its sleeve.

PREMIERE: Auf Togo - A Little Bit Deeper [SaS Recordings]

Images du Futur, this year's Secretly Canadian-released sophomore album from Montreal's Suuns, receives fittingly edgy remix treatment from Canada's premier electronic label, Turbo Recordings. The nationalistic pride ends there, however, as the remixers are strictly European.

Leading the charge are Scottish techno prodigies Clouds, arguably the most important artists to emerge on the roster of Tiga's 15 year strong imprint since Duke Dumont and Gesaffelstein rose to stardom. Their remix is a brooding stomper that reflects the development of their sound in the concrete wonderland of the UK's underground scene. It's not bright or obvious, but, as with their recently released debut lp, it's a rewardingly profound listen for what is essentially a club-shaking DJ tool.

Fellow 'New Jack Techno' cohort joeFarr turns in two stellar versions built around massive distorted kick drums, already on the hype radar since Tiga kicked off his acclaimed Boiler Room set with the second of the two, a decidedly more clubby effort while the first mix chugs along at a slower tempo, leaving extra space for all the grit and grime of his heavily textured sounds.

Finally, French DJ-journeyman Ivan Smagghe weighs in with a pair as well… firstly converting 2020 into a style all his own, a kind of zombie cowboy march as It's A Fine Line (alongside Tim Paris)… and, even more finally, with a brilliant re-edit of an older track on Suuns's catalog, Up Past the Nursery. It's a deep, after-hours epic and surely the most accessible and pop moment on the EP, sure to fit in equally well into the sets of house DJs as well as late-night loft-party hipsters.

Turbo explores the future primitive with NEW JACK TRIBAL. First instalment in this new series comes courtesy of emerging Canadian talent: @Clarian, @Hreno, @MikeMind and label A&R @VonParty.

Bridging the gap between the psychedelic world-beat of newly launched sister-label Multi Culti and Turbo’s forward-looking techno and house stylings, these four tracks offer distinct yet consistently straightforward takes on the tribal trance-out. 

Visionquest-native Clarian’s icy-cool ‘Inuit’ kicks things off with a super hypnotic groove… the perfect soundtrack to an acid-ice-fishing trip gone right and an optimal DJ tool for the very early or very late hours. 

Berlin-resident and Canadian ex-pat Hreno (Fur Trade, Autochtone, etc) is next up with ‘Tree Trunks,’ an expertly assembled rhythm track built on top of a bubbling bassline sure to get the party rolling. 

Turbo and Multi Culti A&R Thomas Von Party takes the party from the forest into the jungle with ‘Pygmy Funk,’ an overtly primitive journey built on wood knocks, bird sounds and the deep throb of tom and bongo. 

Finally, the supremely-talented Mike Mind turns in a downtempo bomb that will highlight your cave-party playlist.

Mexican Dj & producer Mijo and Berlin duo Local Suicide collide in a wonderfully fresh and inventive collaboration on their latest EP ‘Edo Kai Tora/Ganz Falsch’. Local Suicide, comprised of couple Brax Moody (Munich) and Vamparela (Thessaloniki), weaves in their signature blend of Post-Disco, New Wave, Jacking Acid, and Slow Dark Techno while Mijo injects his own stylings of the Latin Techno that he helped to define and create. 
The result is a spacious, energetic, and stunning product from start to finish.  As the latest installment from San Francisco-based label Roam Recordings, which specializes in Dark Disco, Post Techno, EBM, and Acid, ‘Edo Kai Tora/Ganz Falsch’ is an impressive sonic feat that will leave you dancing all night.  
The EP opens with the original ‘Edo Kai Tora’, an infectious uptempo track with hypnotic, oscillating synths and an undeniable groove. Greek Vamparela of Local Suicide brings her voice to the track. The result is a sultry, spoken vocal that repeats the resounding phrase ‘Edo Kai Tora’, which in Greek translates into ‘Here And Now’. The words themselves couldn’t be more fitting to the overall feel of the project, which has an extremely 'in the moment' sensibility to it. In ‘Ganz Falsch’, Mijo and Local Suicide revitalize the electronic boogie, keeping things light and fun with a warbling bass hook juxtaposed with a playful, spitting rhythmic vocal. 
Supporting the EP, Berlin-based DJ/Producer Sascha Funke along with Moscow Duo Simple Symmetry lend their talents to create standout reinterpretations of both title tracks. Where Sascha Funke fleshes out the darker, cosmic undertones of ‘Edo Kai Tora’, Simple Symmetry mix in an extra kick of pop and funk sensibilities to the project by layering rhythmic, post-punk garage style guitars into ‘Ganz Falsch’, bringing to mind the underground indie rock scene of Southern California. The project comes to a delightful close with two additional digital bonus tracks: a slightly elongated, ethereal interpretation of ‘Edo Kai Tora’ (re-envisioned by Sascha Funke) and an energetic dance version of ‘Ganz Falsch’. 
As a whole, the EP is an electric, collaborative accomplishment of unique sonic character, versatile and exemplifying the best of each producers creative talents. ‘Edo Kai Tora/Ganz Falsch’ is set for release on vinyl and digital formats this July 20th under Roam Recordings

There are many ways for a record label to compile an album: some make it in a week and some let the process go on longer. The latter approach does often mean that that the record will not be better than had it been recorded and mixed within a short amount of time, rather the contrary. However, there are those albums that just could not be made within in a week or a month, those compilation of songs that needed the time to melt together to form an album.  So here it is , the second part of Princes Of Abzu and our pick up here - Mekine U Teksi the opener track from release, lovely  6 minutes of journey with fantastic percussion and lovely dark structure. I love the way Brigitte Fontaine & Areski both mock everything with naive and insolent attitude. Although I made it sounds darker (as actual world is), like a looped mantra dub trying to cast a spell, disenchant the blinded and rise the black sheep."
