Bedouin is the Brooklyn-based production and DJ partnership between nomads Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki. Bringing their unique spell of melodies and rhythms to Crosstown Rebels, they deliver their cover version of the famous Pink Floyd classic, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun. Guy Gerber also steps in to deliver a deeply mystical dance floor remix.

Sharing an eclectic sonic vision that pulls from diverse influences owing to their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing, and world travels, here Bedouin deliver some of their best productions to date. “Getting the chance to play the song to Pink Floyd’s drummer Nick Mason personally and him liking it was very exciting for us. We're also happy to have the very talented and our good friend Guy Gerber to be the first ever to remix one of our tracks. The b-side, ‘Guacamole’, is an original track conceived in Mexico and made for the dance floor.”

In 2016, as well as touring the world extensively, Bedouin curated a compilation entitled Kindisch Stories and had the honour of recording an Essential Mix for Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show. 2017 saw the launch of their brand SAGA at Heart Ibiza, where they turn Ibiza Sundays into a mirage of musical odysseys. Guy Gerber also runs his highly successful Rumors party in Ibiza on Sundays, which takes the same name as his acclaimed record label.

I think last time I wrote for Chromeo I did something stupid like express it in the form of a number from one to ten. I think I put 8. Ok, fair enough, I was on a truth-kick... so let's keep it up. This record is a motherfucking 10. You hear me?? A 10!!!!!! That's right... "Astral Weeks" = 10,
"Screamedelica" =10, "Exile on Main Street" = 10, "Pleasure From The Bass" =10... and now "Bonafied Lovin” (and remixes) = 10.

I can't express how relaxing it is to do press sheets for a 10. It's like I can just sit back and do nothing. Maybe best to remind you of past 7s, 8's and 9's: like, oh... I don't know... You Gonna Want me (an 8)... Umbrella (a 9) or maybe Arcade Fire "Funeral" (a 7)... you get the picture.

See, Chromeo have arrived: not like some forced, hyped up bullshit Menswear vibe... but like a Bonzai tree, nurtured by those who believe and love it for years... growing, maturing, oblivious to the outside world... until, when the world is ready... and the time is right... it (they) BLOOM.

Let the summer of '07 be remembered as The Summer of Lovin (Bonafied)....and this single, a testament to their confidence, accomplishment and sound.

First single from the latest audio/visual project, Yearning for the Infinite, Perpetual Motion was written for that moment at the end of the night when all the experiments and madness is over and we just need a nice warm chord sequence to send us home in a good mood. 

The name comes from its role in my new visual show, where it plays that same closing role in the story of humans “yearning for the infinite”. Set to drone footage of people in their endless pursuit of life in Mexico City, combined with epic scientific visualisations of different infinite structures. It’s all part of a project commission from the Barbican, which has spawned this new album and live visual experiment.

Martin Roth - Organic Cold Brewed Hipster Funk

Mexican label Duro is back with a new release by Etcha. The latter delivers a menacing, soundtrack-inspired piece of italo-iosh dancefloor drama on the lead track, which Bird of Paradise then turns into a fierce industrial rhythm-heavy workout.
"Operation Oskar Panizza" on the flip still retains some of that cinematic flavour, but is instead channelled through a dusty, left-field house soundscape. Marvin & Guy wrap up the package there, by taking this track into more familiar club territory, via insistent synth stabs, crunching drums frenetic arpeggios.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998.
