Northern Irish DJ, Producer and label head honcho Hammer - AKA Rory Hamilton - announces a brand new Various Artists compilation titled Remmah Rundown, championing up and coming and established artists from across his musical sphere. The project will be released in March via his Remmah imprint with the first double-sided singles Sickwave – a collaboration with KILIMANJARO – and I Know from Tokyo’s Remmy.

The first single to drop as a double sided track is titled Sickwave, a collaboration with the Scottish producer and DJ, KILIMANJARO. The release sees the two producers team up once again following their entry into Beatportal’s 50 top tracks of 2022 with the Tornado Wallace remix of their track Muleña; a song that proved to be that catalyst in catapulting the producer into the public eye with a debut London Boiler Room set alongside Fred Again. Raised in Scotland with familial roots in Zambia, KILIMANJARO combines his background of afro-centric rhythms and influences, infused with fast-paced energies of the western electronic scene. Known for his high-energy performances and his infectious crowd-raising persona, the past year has seen him return to the studio, bringing with him his rhythmic energy and completely unique vocal style to all of his production. Sickwave carries an infectious grooving beat that represents both of what Hammer and KILIMANJARO do so well, and is the perfect way to launch Remmah Rundown.

The second single, I Know comes from Tokyo’s Remmy, an artist strongly influenced by the re-edit culture inherited from the early days of dance music, as well as disco dub and nu disco that emerged in the early 2000s. With a pure acid influence, I Know is a mesmerising track that elevates itself with a thumping bass beat accompanied by incandescent synth hooks, creating a tactile, pulsating atmosphere.

Marking the label’s eleventh release, the compilation consists of heavy-hitting tracks from some of Hammer’s favourite artists new and old, highlighting Remmah as a label that supports new talent as well as building on Rory's connections to the electronic music scenes in Glasgow and Ireland, two places very close to his heart. More than half of the EPs released on the label have been debuts for the artists involved. A key component to Remmah is enhancing young creatives' work and shining a light on those who fit the Remmah ethos. Through this aspect, talents from further afield join the action, with Mexico’s ALF CHAMPION & MDHNTR, LA’s Club Tularosa and Tokyo’s Remmy all contributing their own takes on Remmah’s established sound of dynamic, italo and acid-infused, cosmic house and techno. Past Remmah artists including Anna Gram, Stevie Cox & Fossil Archive and KILIMANJARO return with brand new tracks, alongside Naum Gabo - aka Optimo’s JG Wilkes and James Savage - and Phonica’s YSANNE with her debut release.

Originally dedicated to his own productions, Remmah is Hammer’s digital only label. A product of lockdown, the label has allowed Hammer to create an outlet that has provided a platform to self-release, all whilst exploring various concepts and allowing his ideas to flourish. Meanwhile, the label also explores socially conscious values, with the second release, a LP titled Fonda, doubling up as an initiative to raise money for Mind Mental Health charity during an extremely difficult time. Remmah is ready and raring to go.

01 - David Duriez - The Acid Special

For "Here Until Now", eclectic producers Luigi Sambuy and Kris Berle take a departure from the sound they are respectively are known for, blending influences from Omar S, Moodyman and Theo Parrish. The two have a lot in common, both being expats in the USA and Mexico. They both made strides in their respective scenes, organizing parties, hosting radio shows and writing music. The result is a balanced tool for the cross-genre DJ, blending elements of lo-fi, minimal and sample based 90s house music. The single will be the first self-release of both artists and will be out September 1st in occasion of Bandcamp Friday.

Luigi Sambuy and Kris Berle are two producers from Italy and Norway respectively. Their paths cross at Burning Man in 2022, after which they initiated a fond friendship sparkled by their love of record collecting and production. In November 2022 Luigi debuted a new concept of events in NY called "Metronome", for which Kris was the inaugural guest.

Laurent Maldo

Laurent est originaire de Toulouse, France...
Il débute le Djing en 1988, et sort son premier remix en 2000,
sur le label F Communications de Laurent Garnier.

Au début des années 2000, il produit sur des labels comme 
Adrenogroov (Suisse) ou Initial Cuts (France) avec son compère italien 
Luca Baldini, sous le pseudo de Moody Preachers. 
Leurs titres reçoivent des retours enthousiastes de la presse internationale et sont également soutenus par de grands DJ comme Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Carl Craig, Mr C ou Fabrice Lig, pour ne citer qu'eux.

Ce succès permet à Laurent de jouer dans des salles et événements célèbres en France, Belgique, Allemagne, Suisse et Italie, aux côtés de nombreux artistes internationaux tels que Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Luke Slater, Magda, Ellen Alien, Heiko Laux, Technasia. , Jay Denham, Deetron, Fabrice Lig, Jori Hulkkonen, The Youngsters, Scan X...

S’en suivent des sorties sur des labels comme Edensonic, Famille Electro, Groove Factory, Exit Audio et Blooming Soul.

Laurent s'associe en 2014 avec le producteur français Jules Wells (Electrofunk, Submerge) pour ce qui s'avère être un premier EP explosif sur le légendaire label KMS ("Made in France EP"). 
Cet EP est joué par des poids lourds comme Kevin Saunderson, Carl Cox et Derrick May. Le duo sort alors plus de musique sur KMS, mais aussi 
Planet E, Restructured, Bakroom et Astropolis.

Ces dernières années, après quelques collaborations avec le label toulousain Canal Auditif, Laurent a rejoint le célèbre label de David Duriez « Brique rouge », pour de nouvelles aventures musicales, toujours inspirées par le groove unique de Détroit et de Chicago.

Foundation Music is proud to present ‘The Flowers EP’ by Foremost Poets aka Johnny Dangerous. Back in the news after being featured on the Grammy winning Alien Superstar from Beyonce’s latest album - but for those that know - he has never gone away as he is always on someone’s dance floor. Foremost Poets productions and his vocals are simply devastating and label head, Ross Allen, has been a fan since he first heard the Nu Groove classic ‘Reason’s to Be Dismal’ on the reworked Richard Long Edition.  It was a record that blew him away then and now, recently played by Pete Tong on Radio One, and with Sven Vath including it on his anniversary compilation too. Ross signed this record when he hooked up with Johnny in New York 3 years, but wanted to wait until the time was right. That time is now.
 
‘Flowers In the Attic’ is no normal dance record, clocking in at thirteen minutes. It’s an epic Johnny D production, falling into that place where funk and house come together in the most magical, danceable way. It’s long but enticing, taking you through different phases and surprises you as it sucks you in, twists you up, and pulls you out. ‘Escape From Dubai’ is almost trance like but with that New York lean that keeps it very much on the right side of the Foundation Music fence. Full of funk, it has a deepness that builds and swells into an epic journey that takes you to another dimension. The broken beat of ‘Don’t Shut Your Eyes’ closes out and is another piece of New York/ New Jersey up-tempo funk, syncopated and grooving with a repetitive hook, that goes deep via its Hammond organ solo and jazzy vocal.
