We wanted Turbo’s 218th release to be special, so we’re proud to announce that we’ve harpooned and skinned one of our white whales, Gesloten Cirkel. Label boss Tiga pursued several leads, most of which went nowhere (the artist's real name is not, as it turns out, "Jesse Circle”), before cornering the elusive Cirkel in Berlin, where he promptly befriended the shit out of him.

With killer releases on legendary Dutch electro/acid imprint Murdercapital, Gesloten Cirkel’s banger credentials are unimpeachable. For his Turbo debut, he flooded our modest Metaverse offices with over 60 demos. If you guessed that the tracks on Detoon represent all the very best of that material, you just might have what it takes to run a label of your own one day. But you’d also be wrong, because there’s a second Turbo EP on the horizon. Never forget: with Turbo, you’re always here to learn.

For his third outing on the label DMX Krew returns to Super Rhythm Trax with a six-tracker showcasing a wide repertoire of his musical madness chasing listeners, dancers and DJs from House to Techno while adding the game, his game, a slight Acid-note (from time to time), in short: Second Moon EP is a classic before it's out already. The B1, a revisit of The Wiggly Worm, comes in with a lush bass line topped with a sweet Acid-line and the "wiggly worm" vocal, which - in the course of the track - is enriched with various effects just like the bass- and synth-line of the track. Once again it proves to be true that it's not the high amount of elements, which make a track an outstanding one, but rather few ones combined doing the job just as DMX Krew does and did with this one. Chapeau!

DMX Krew's Second Moon EP will be released on Super Rhythm Trax on August 22nd, 2022.

Not content with a double 12” of acid drenched delinquency, Schrödinger’s Box have drafted in four 303 addicts to bring their own acrid fire to Hard Ton’s Bigger is Better. To get the bitter ball rolling, Larionov opens. Known for his dark electro and EBM leanings, this reinterpretation of “Transcend Your Body” is a bruiser of throbbing pulses, lancing lines and stabbing synths to pierce the fog and strobe. Rude 66 follows with his beloved vocoder doing battle with Massimo Bastasi’s original vocals. The result is a duel of distant rhythms and shimmering wordplay. The flip sees Nightwave on the attack. Brawny beats elbow lyrics in this driving audio onslaught. Bulging rusted basslines crush speaker cones as a blistering remake takes hold, blasts of body bending brutalism turning Hard Ton’s original into an even sweatier brute. An artist born and raised on analogue squawk and squelch finishes. Posthuman, one of the infamous figures behind the I Love Acid nights, takes the tongue-in-cheek Brit Pop flashback of “Girls and Boys” and contorts it into a grimy Chicago jam.

He'd always found escape inside his own head, he'd dream up strange worlds and unrealistic situations that stimulated him far more than reality and daily life ever could. Perhaps he'd be better off there, creating his own perfect world full of the things that brought him joy and happiness and ridding it of the things that brought him down. 

Electric Shapes continue their busy schedule with an EP from Auren, a new addition to their ever-growing roster. Aptly named Electrically Shaped, the release is made up of four tracks that could soundtrack dark nights at the club or huge grandiose spaces. Its cinematic and atmospheric, matching rumbling bass lines and breakbeat rhythms with chopped and screwed vocal samples.
