At Turbo, we love to pay the ultimate price. Sometimes that means releasing life-saving bangers despite the enormous emotional cost to ourselves and the people in our lives. And other times that means emailing outside our comfort zone to decidedly foreign countries.

Tuscany-born Marco Faraone and Uruguay-guy Diego Infanzon are currently based on the sweating edge of contemporary Eurotechno. “My Own Reason” kicks off their Turbo debut with an Italo-trance dancehorse that poses the answer-hungry question, “Who Are We and Where Are We Go?” Post-leadoff track “Breaking the Rules” incites the crowd to overthrow its masters at the municipal level and beyond, over a vascular throb that evokes the word “sinew” like few other floor-fillers released this month. And “Level One” gets you in on the ground floor of the Qatar’s tallest nightclub, with what everyone will immediately recognize as frisk n’ tug NDA acid.

Just as any serious intellectual has spent the past decade contemplating the Trolley Problem and nothing else, any self-respecting FLAC collector has got to get in on this digital release, which includes the closer “Control Your Mind.” We are not telling you what to do here, but we will point out that this moving example of Cyber-Altruism is just another reason why “Go for It” is our middle name.

When the PWCCA acronym shows up we immediately think about one of the most prolific producers in nowadays techno scene, but this phenomenon does not come for granted, he has been involved in electronic music since an early age, and he is not a newcomer whatsoever. His first contact with vinyl decks was deep into last century's nineties and soon after he discovered electronic computer rhythms with a primitive Roland Tr 606 Drum Machine. Soon he fell in love with the raw British sounds of Blueprint and Surface Records, Richard Polson, Oliver Ho, James Ruskin, the Birmingham gang … and that appeal to the groove has never left him since. After a long musical trip as Dr. Cyanide decides to embrace this current PWCCA project we are now talking about, and this very long player means his definitive reaffirmation as one of the pillars of our label and as an extension to techno sound in general. In this extended sonic excursion, PWCCA puts his sonic weapons at work with precise and pristine results: Crispy textures, concrete bass drums, funky rhythm elements, rugged sequences, profound bass frequencies, all that always combined in super intelligent arrangements that seem cycled but embed a lot of soul inside. Every single piece in this sonic puzzle has a reason to be there, nothing is superficial and every little detail has a meaning and a reason. It can be anabolic and gymnastic, it can be mental or asymmetrical, it can be from outer space or it can be from below the earth’s surface. One thing is clear, his approach to sound is unique and this collection is a superb sample of his gifted capabilities with the machines. Probably one of the most accurate collections of techno tools out there.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte.
