Basura & Mierda return with “Socio Sucio,” their second offering following a potent debut back in 2023, now landing on the Ultramind imprint, a sub-label of the tougher big brother Kyma Komplex. This new collection is a testament to their refusal to be categorised, weaving a complex tapestry of inspirations into a coherent whole designed for the dance floor. The entire work feels like a calculated rebellion, a vibrant and slightly chaotic mosaic where disparate electronic elements are forced into a thrilling, unified front. It’s this very commitment to a bold, almost confrontational aesthetic that makes the EP such a compelling listen from start to finish.

Premiered here, “Base” operates with a specific, relentless intent. Its foundation is a rhythm section that feels both muscular and agile, drawing clear inspiration from the low-end pressure of Bass music while driving forward with a frantic, hip-swaying pulse. This framework is populated by a cascade of fragmented vocal snippets that slice through the mix, creating a sense of organised bedlam. Marking the anniversary of three decades of career, Dopplereffekt debuts on Tresor Records with Metasymmetry, arriving 12 December 2025.

This latest release finds members Rudolf Klorzeiger and To-Nhan in deep inquiry in sound, contemplating structure and pattern in physics and nature resulting in a harmonious audio tessellation.

Metasymmetry itself relates to a kind of second-order reality found not in the structures of life but in the rules that govern these structures; that order exists not only in things but in the relationships among systems of order. It is a structure of structures, a logic of laws, an abstract unity embedded in the act of transformation itself.

Accordingly, the four-track EP reflects this duality. Each side opens with a piece of electronic music at its most precise and immovable: defined, kinetic, architectural. This is followed by a second composition that dissolves into a weightless, atmospheric counter-form. The shift evokes a higher symmetry: an alignment not of parts, but of principles; a sonic model of the universe’s hidden invariance.

Metasymmetry also echoes across Dopplereffekt’s extended sonic continuum; this stands as the first offering on Tresor under the Dopplereffekt name despite an association with the label and club going back to the start. In this, it becomes the source of an echo that reverberates backwards through time; its own reflection:

a mirror reflecting in a mirror
harmony within a system
identities in perfect balance
