Almost two years ago we reissued DJ Boom 'Kinda Kickin' with an extra Efdemin remix on CURLE-P06. Because y'all loved it so much, we decided to reissue two more Matthew Herbert deep house goodies. After the very well received Linkwood remix of 'See You On Monday', it’s now time for one of Herbert’s biggest records; ‘Deeper’, from the iconic "Part Two" EP, 20 years old but still timeless! On remix duties is Basic Soul Unit, who saw his album released on Dekmantel end of last year. We knew he was good, but his remix exceeded each and any of our expectations. What a bomb!!! Now available digitally for the first time. First 300 on marbled vinyl.

‘D974’ quickly explodes into a full-bore warehouse banger, throughout which Welsh employs rave stabs and cavernous basslines to eye-watering effect. Nonetheless, amid the madness, Welsh’s taste for psychedelia peeks through the darkness and into the strobe light.

On the contrary, 'Boltmaker' reintroduces Welsh's more nuanced commitment to analogue electronics and sheer suspense, riding along on a razor-sharp groove that undulates between flourishes of melody that prove to be in turn both menacing and surprisingly meditative.

For the next release on his inestimable Turbo Recordings imprint, Tiga has recruited Leeds-based artist Viers to create a menacing EP titled 'Hurt Me' that will shake your eardrums to oblivion if not handled with care. Inspired by DIY Fetish Techno parties and the history of jungle, the four-tracker is a Turbo triumph that is not to be missed. 

Ahead of its vinyl release on September 13 (digital on Sept. 27), Viers as handed over the cut 'Gonna Get' - a high-octane roller that revolves around a big vocal jungle sample that gets repurposed for this buff techno track.

Turbo Recordings was founded by Tiga in Montreal back in 1998. In addition to launching his own career, the label has been integral in the success of acts like Chromeo, Gesaffelstein, Duke Dumont and most recently, ANNA & Charlotte de Witte. Core talent includes ZZT (Tiga's collaboration with Zombie Nation), Jori Hulkkonen, BETON, Clouds, Harvard Bass, Pilo, Shaded, Dimitri Veimar and a host of new young producers in genres ranging from pure techno, electro, and house to pop. The list of artists who have released music on the label is a veritable 'who's who' of top-level talent spanning a broad musical range, and this, along with a commitment to beautiful design, has earned the label respect in the industry and a cult following among fans. 

“We started out singing into plastic bags and shipping them to stores as quickly as possible. Later, we discovered that vinyl sounds way better when delivered by kayak. I learned so much the first few years…Now, as I look towards the future, I can envision music for poor people, sonic odors for the hearing impaired, even MP3s for women....Vroom, sucka!” says Tiga, the lyrical lampsman lighting the way down Dance Avenue.
