Launched in the tail-end of 2022 - Victor Ruiz’s VOLTA imprint is already making strides in the techno space through a relentless stream of impactful releases from a mixture of some of the genre’s biggest names and most promising talents. The latest release on the label sees Hamburg-based duo ANDATA deliver a blistering two-tracker titled ‘Play Hard’.

Kicking off the release, the title cut ‘Play Hard’ does what it says on the packaging. Thumping drum work and hissing percussive drive steer the track forwards amongst a sea of progressively climactic melodic components, and atmospheric breaks whilst a catchy spoken vocal hook keeps you reeling alongside its ever-intensifying acidity from start to finish - this one was built for the absolute peak of the party.

‘Pleasant Experience’ rounds off the release with more weighty rhythms, swapping ferocity for a more groove-focused cadence. Gritty harmonies and swinging momentum float the track alongside a gripping bassline melody and endless layers of melodic accents that flow on either side of several crescendo style breaks, delivering an addictive ebb and flow of firmly danceable techno with celestial nuances.

Our big friend Terra Melodica celebrates a new release in Beatfreak Recordings. "Discordia" E.P. comes after his previous hits "Incessus" and the magical remix of "Segmento". This time he is introducing a 3 cuts E.P. "Blast Off", "Discordia" and "Hexagon". "Blast off" it's a Melodic techno track which includes some sensual and sweet French vocals. "Discordia" presents an interesting breackdown surrounded by some vocal choirs and eclectic melodies with alternative sound during the main parts of the track. "Hexagon" is the deepest song of the EP. Some mysterious and tensional voices introduce the beautiful breakdown, another organic and indie elements build the full essence of the song.

Next up on Truesoul we welcome Danny Serrano & Rehmark, who debut on the label with ‘Interlurder State’. Between them the Spanish duo have already released music on Suara, Viva Music, Terminal M and Elevate; It’s quite clear that both of their careers are in the ascendant and we are delighted to showcase their music.

The release kicks off with ‘Second State’, which ramps into top gear from the start, with its groove-heavy beats and intuitive percussive components working in perfect unison. ‘Interlurder’ is more of a low-slung roller with thumping drums and is certainly geared towards the underground heads.  Both tracks highlight the pairs skillful production ability – Expect to hear these tracks a lot more this summer!

With the second vinyl release of its new record label venture, Gegen showcases two staples of the Berlin club scene.

On the A side, Berghain regular DJ, acclaimed producer and multi-label founder Oliver Deutschmann brings his signature sound of hypnotic “8-AM-on-a-Sunday” big room techno. “Wach” (awake in German) has the kind of sound that builds on layers upon layers of skillfully designed drums.

On the B side with “Roadkill”, Gegen’s own residents La Fraicheur & Leonard de Leonard come up with a moody track carrying a weird combination of gritty and dirty synths with spacious sound design that make you wonder if you didn’t get thrown off the side of the Milky Way by a boisterous clunky spacecraft on its last leg.
