Symphony Of Trees is the name of his podcast and we couldn't find a better way to describe this Journey as to mention a short poem about the lovely music of trees:

"How I love to hear the rustle of the leaves upon the trees
When the foliage of summer is a moving in the breeze
When the oak and beech and maple are a tuning up the air
As they hear the quaking aspen sending signals everywhere."

ANYCAST 023 is here and it’s one we’ve been dying to receive. Give it up for the very talented Oli, AKA DJ SENN @ddjsenn who’s put together something real good for y'all. She’s provided us with a one hour and twenty minute long journey where she literally slows down time. Full of Downtempo tunes and some quite ambiental touches here and there.

zuerst klopfte etwas links auf ihre Schulter,
im selben Augenblick war sie gesattelt.

ein innerer Antrieb lies sie lospreschen,
instinktiv der Nase nach. 

immer weiter, immer weiter,
selbst die Vögel hatten es eilig nachzukommen.

erst als sich eine dichte Nebelwand vor ihr auftat
bekam sie das Gefühl angekommen zu sein. 

keine Taktlosigkeit kam ihrem Herzschlag gleich,
es dauerte eine Weile, dann wurde sie ruhig.

die anderen waren schon längst da, 
wie immer war die Unke am langsamsten gewesen.

kein Grund für sie traurig zu sein,
schließlich waren sie ja beisammen.

und so zogen sie gemeinsam durch den Schleier der Nacht,
ihre Hände fest am Herz. Stunden vergingen...

erst als die inneren Uhren wieder zu ticken anfingen,
die Pulse sich beruhigten,
lichteten sich die Nebelschwaden. 

leiser Gesang verklang in der Ferne.
mit offenen Augen schauten sie einander an.

es war Tag.

plötzlich wurde der Unke eines klar:
wenn das Leben ein Ponyhof wäre,
wäre sie selbst nicht da.

der Gedanke hielt sich fest,
und sattelte auf. 

und so ritt die Unke zurück ins Ungewisse,
denn nur dort bekam sie Schlaf.

As always, we fundraise with this release for our social partner @Love-foundation and we introduce you to the artist Hugo aka Pelikaan, by asking him three questions.

What is love for you?
I am the father of a 3yo little girl, so when I think about the love she's the first thing that springs to mind!
Love is the ultimate necessity to give without needing a return. Giving love to others around us is the most generous act we are capable of, while receiving love is what makes us bloom.
I would have never made this EP without the love and support of the love of my life, my partner in crime, my best friend: my beautiful wife who pushed me to share the music I had inside of me with the world.

What's the closest thing to real magic for you?
We all experience magic every day as the driving force that binds the universe together. I became Buddhist a few years ago which gave me a way to connect to that energy. With this in hand, you can overcome any obstacle in your life and you become the only architect of your happiness and one of the people around you. It doesn't beat Dr Strange but we're not too far off :)

What's the most useless talent you have?
I can make my eyes tremble. Don't ask me how, I just can. Yes, I know it's creepy.

What are memories? What are these tiny fragments of images, sounds, and feelings that move slowly towards you, like waves on a shore? What if we translated these into sounds? Trying to capture the warmth and the washed-up imagery that float around so freely in our heads. Stripped down to the core of the sound. Sounds that swim through vast spaces in the universe that sit inside of our brain. The washed-up fragments come up to the surface, and they create beautiful chains of atmospheres that give you that dream-like state.

The gliding of the synthesizers, the texture of the sound, the raw and distorted buildups that take you higher and higher. Minimalism is essential, no drums, just heartbeats, processed through endless loops of cassette tapes, just like our childhood. Waves, forests, streets, cities, and private places recorded and layered around poetry and accompanied by guitars and bass blend imperfectly on the sounds you hear, and these are nuances of the past are the haunting thoughts that wake you up in the middle of the night.

These are Memories on Tape.
