Y'know, I was listening to the Sonic the Hedgehog 1&2 soundtrack album and came across the Masa Demo version of Starlight Zone. I wasn't too big on it at first but then felt like trying to remake it with just instruments that aren't MIDI.

This project turned into something completely different.
I hope you enjoy this track I whipped up over the course of two days!

Like I stated in the preview, this is a planned project from all the way back in 2017 when I started a close friendship with Vinpie. (I'll have you know that to this day he is an even closer friend than he was 5 years ago.)

Now why did it take so long to come up with something as simple as this track, you ask? I would usually just make a new project file only to be adding in the lead of MISFORTUNE and just use a different instrument apart from the OG MEGALOVANIA lead instrument. The MISFORTUNE lead just sounds blatantly wrong to me with that instrument.

But back to what I was saying.
For this version, I have come up with a style that one could consider "Vaporwavey"?? I was moreso planning on making this sound intense, yet old-fashioned, something you would hear in a TV show's theme back then. As you could hear, I was trying to find the right sound this entire time and it finally paid off!

I've also got to thank https://soundcloud.com/jamangar for finding the STMPWYFS reverse cymbal sample. She reminded me of how the sound is literally just at the end of the STMPWYFS track, so I only just had to trim the sound out of the song haha.

One thing I need to mention is how I never really liked the "MISFORTUNE trope" with the elevator music. (btw no i am NOT claustrophobic) No offense to anybody who made their own glamorous covers on the song! They're still very good in their own way. I just felt that right now was a perfect time to go back to the basics with that Garageband magic Vinpie always has with his music.

I must say that the last few months have really had me in a Sonic phase again. (totally not because of Sonic Frontiers or anything.......)

So much so I finally became good at Sonic Adventure 2 and consider this to be my top 3 best Sonic games, ever. Which is odd because I really hated this game. (mostly because of other levels and how much skill it took to A rank any stage.)

I love this game so much now that I want to dive deeper into the techno tracks that Shadow carries in the majority of his stages.

This is also the kinda thing I wanna do more often and I hope you're eager to see what I've got in store for you pretty soon! :)

Sorry for not being active for a little while, btw! A lot of my focus has gone to college, work, TS!Underswap and I'm about to start worrying about driving lessons.

This time I got a more experimental track for y'all. I really wanted to try my hand at that Hideki Naganuma GOODNESS and if I nailed it, that's up to you. :)

The concept I've got in my head for this is Sonic running through an Indian city as its first level.

Bumpin' Hard

In a course of 3 hours, this was started and finished.
Dire, Dire Docks is such a gorgeous track. I thought the last version lacked some things that I think were important, so that version's privated for the time being!

I've tried putting the track in different keys, tried changing the tempo of the music to see if I could make it sound any different, and while it DOES work... it just hits much harder when the original feel is there. I hope this cover achieves this feeling for you. :)

P.S.
Ever found it weird how this track is named after the *second* water level in the game and not Jolly Roger Bay??

I don't care about the fact that he's a spirit, I still believe in him. Telling me that he doesn't have a chance anymore is no use, he was a playable Mii, he was one of the most voted characters for the Smash ballot and now he DEFINITELY deserves that unique, playable, character, spot. I've done this as a tribute for Geno, mostly because he is my favourite Mario character. He has a personality you rarely see. The writing for this character opened my eyes for this character SINCE I WAS 4. That's when I started supporting him for Smash. I've been waiting 10 years at this point. I LOVE this character, dawg. I know I'm rambling atm but ffs I've been waiting 10, YEARS. ._.

Forest Maze (Undertale Area-Styled)

I thought final boss music was good enough, but then I encountered this one. HOOOOHHH BABY THIS ONE GIVES ME NOSTALGIA. Although I have never played this game before, it looks fun though!!
The only Mario & Luigi game I've played was Partners In Time, it's in fact one of the first Mario games I have ever played, the story, the music, the sprites and colors. It's all beautiful.

Enough talk about the other Mario games, THE FINAL BOSS OF THIS ONE WAS AMAZING. Check out the upcoming remake!! It's already available in Japan!

It took me 6 hours non-stop to finish this and holy crap, that was worth it. Even though FL Studio fucking crashed 5-7 times during this.
