Part 2 of AIRLOCK features a deep groovy remix by the legendary  Sebb Junior - Producer, DJ and Label Owner of La Vie D’artiste Music out of Granada, Spain. Sebb has had his music released on labels such as: Toolroom, Papa Records, Large Music, Nervous, Dvine Sounds, Hed Kandi, Milk & Sugar Recordings, Salted Music, Madhouse Records & many more. As busy as he is these days, we're so glad we could make him a part of this release. To accompany Sebb's version on Part 2, we have a 2nd remix by Cromarti Records very own, George Horn!

Toy Tonics is back with an EP by indie disco producer and DJ David Bay. 
The four-tracker "Mixed Signals" is reminiscing the sound of the 2010s: Drums with a touch of 80s, synths that are silky-soft, bass lines that walk you through the song, and sounds that were chopped; they almost seem sampled. (But no samples in these tracks!). Some people might remember UK artists such as Les Rythmes Digitales or even Fatboy Slim, but also Chromeo or Breakbot when listening to these tracks. Yes, in fact, this sound is coming back now. Big time. And Toy Tonics being always a bit ahead of the wave, is serving the right tunes.
David’s music is sun-drenched, inevitably positive and in the best way accessible. Always on the verge between Disco, House and Indie. He’s playing bass-guitar, keys, organic drums and pairs them with clubby and edgy sounds. We're going for that place between retro and future, analog and digital, easy and uplifting, … You coming?
David is not new in the scene: he started off in music with his band Pool, when they were still kids - from playing at their schools they rapidly evolved to playing festivals such as SXSW, Melt! and toured with some of the biggest names in Indie Music, like The 1975. And he has collaborated with artists from any genre. For Toy Tonics, he helped to produce a band that released an album some years ago: The Phenomenal Handclap Band. He did the song  „Do What You Like“ and the single "Television" on Toy Tonics, but he also worked with dance artists such as Kapote and Solomon.
After contributing the mixes and productions for other people’s projects for quite some time, David felt the need to express himself through music with his very own alias. He started a label, Zissou Records, with his best friend DJ Dreams and released the first bunch of edits and original tracks on the imprint. Most recently, David released a remix on Bordello A Parigi from Amsterdam and a feature with Digitalism on Future Disco from London. 
The vocals on this EP come from vocalist Rita. Sometimes it is only distant bits, like on "Reverse Engineer", and sometimes it is a straightforward hook, like on "I Don’t Need A Reason To".

For the third release on Astropical Tapes, the Polish label have invited various artists to contribute to the ‘Interstellar Funk’ EP. Among them are Marcin Krupa and Astro Buhloone, who contributed the past two releases on the label, alongside a host of new talent. 

One of these new artists is Easy Audio, whose effort ‘Gypsy Funk’ we premiere today. ‘Gypsy Funk’ uses snatches of vocals and a 2-step drum pattern to create a vivacious sense of life within the track. This is supplemented by strummed guitars and whispering flutes that sound like they are lifted from old traveller’s folk music, perhaps explaining the song’s title.

Anthony Fade's made a few stand-out appearances on FH over the past year-or-so with a bunch of stellar offerings on a handful esteemed outlets such as Nerang, Dansu Discs, Shall Not Fade and sister imprint, Lost Palms. He returns this time on fellow tastemaker Sloth Boogie's new(ish) record arm with four club destined pumpers, crafted for the dancefloor.

'M1 Cause Everyone's Gotta Have Fun' is bursting with 90's euphoria,  something we haven’t as of yet seen emanate from Anthony's artillery - but damn he does it well. Still embodying the hallmark Fade fuzz n' crackle, Anthony achieves a nostalgic club experience as well as a contemporary one. A real 3am energy raising jam, contributing towards yet another excellent release.

PREMIERE: Anthony Fade - M1 Cause Everyone's Gotta Have Fun [SlothBoogie]

French dusty house maestro G2S is back on the scene after his never-getting-old EP 'Check Dat Hiss' and a couple of classy collaborations on his own imprint In Any Case Records last year. But, we've got some sad news to share with you - speaking to Theo recently, he admitted that 'Bounce' may be his last track of this kind. Whilst his passions still very much lie with funky, head-nodding vibes, he's taking a bit of time to drift away from his usual house beats to focus on something a little bit different. Having immersed himself in mainly Jazz-Funk and Fusion records of late, I'm sure whatever that something is, it'll be special.

If this is to be his last track with his trademark house feel, then highly regarded French label S3A is surely the ideal home for it. G2S has perfected the art of sampling and this one, part of a 4 track offering alongside Felipe Gordon, Sweely and S3A himself, makes no exceptions. A heavy kick is spread thick with Rhodes, sprinkled with sax and punctuated by a mean, bouncing bass line. A real classy production.  

We are as excited by what could come next from Theo as we are sad that this may be the last we hear of his dulcet, dusty tones. Watch this space!

The duo rework the original deep feel’ of Praise’ into a more robust house cut, keeping the core of the composition whilst stirring in uplifting piano lines, dynamic percussion, acid-tinged resonant licks and a bumpy bass line.

With an abundance of amazing tunes and music coming out of these restricted times, it’s made for a bumper crop of wonky chuggers, acid heaters and sun kissed Balearic bangers for our annual ‘A Summer Riot’ EP.  So much so, that’s this year’s IX instalment has bolstered considerably, now spreading over two editions, and with 6 tracks apiece from some of our favourite producers.

Seasoned Futureboogie pros, Christophe and PBR Streetgang, head up the selection on Part Two, with Christophe delivering a meaty, reverb soaked, acid brain bender on ‘Critters 2 (The Revenge)’, whilst the PBR boys offer up a sleez and seductive Moroder inspired romp.

Glasgow’s Manakinz make a second appearance across the two ‘A Summer Riot IX’ releases, with the hypnotising ‘Mystic Throbber’, whilst Roe Deers come good with the quirky and funky sounds of ‘Monkey Dance’.

‘Fire In Zero Gravity’ by duo Acolyte, touches on Detroit techno soul and inspirative piano work for their entry, and Jakobin seals off the EP with the ghostly ambience and shuffling beats of ‘Mighty Mt’.
