Here's another instalment of my series focussing on one particular artist, producer or record label and this time I've chosen one of my all time faves - The 6th Borough Project. Ever since I've discovered the underground disco and house scene I think I've rarely played a set that doesn't contain one of their tracks or remixes, such is the staying power of their productions. I hope you enjoy checking this out as much as I enjoyed mixing it up! Big love to Craig and Graeme for creating such fine beats over the years.

Fingerman ♥︎'s The 6th Borough Project

Luca Olivotto is an Italian-born, Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label curator whose sound bridges deep grooves, melodic sensibility, and vintage house aesthetics. A lifelong musician, he began with piano, guitar, and punk bands before fully embracing electronic production.

In 2014 he founded Endless Music, originally a techno platform that later evolved toward house. By 2019 he launched Small Great Things, a vinyl-focused label dedicated to soulful, groove-driven house and disco, followed in 2024 by its sub-label At A Glance, showcasing refined underground textures. These projects not only serve as outlets for his own productions but also spotlight emerging talent within the Berlin scene.

Together with his Small Great Things team, Olivotto curates Small Great House, a monthly series now hosted at OXI Club. The events have become staples of Berlin’s house community, celebrated for their deep, uplifting energy.

His catalog-including Floating Memories, Over & Out EP, It's Too Dark EP, and his 2024 full-length That Groove LP-embodies his signature: warm chords, disco-infused basslines, and cinematic atmospheres.

Through his releases, labels, and events, Luca Olivotto is shaping more than tracks-he is building a culture where house music feels both timeless and forward-looking.

Myrddin is one of Lyon’s strongest forces in the French electronic scene. DJ, producer, and founder of Mélopée Records, he crafts a distinctive sound that fuses nu-disco, italo, electro, and rave spirit. Fascinated by 80s hardware and raised on techno and EBM, Myrddin translates his passion into cosmic, analog-driven grooves marked by warm basslines, acid touches, and trance-like melodies.

Since launching Mélopée Records in 2019, he has built a label that reflects his vision of contemporary dance music - luminous, mysterious, and deeply emotional. Between 2020 and 2023, he released on respected imprints such as Esthétique Records, Ulla Records, Golden Soul, and of course Mélopée, earning international attention and support from artists like Skatebård, Chinaski or Phunkadelica.

Both on stage and in the studio, Myrddin’s flawless technique and analog sensibility create a hypnotic tension between nostalgia and futurism. Each performance is a journey through his retrofuturist universe - a celebration of machines, rhythm, and emotion - making him not just a local weapon in Lyon, but a key name in Europe’s scene.

Kléo aka Clélia Zida, House music is a guiding light. French-born and Amsterdam-based, her love affair with the genre began two decades ago. Schooled by vinyl’s technicalities, her sets span the full spectrum of House. Honouring the legacy of the holy trinity of dance music cities—Chicago, New York, and Detroit—rooted in the Black lineage of Disco, Funk, Soul and Jazz. Kléo embraces the essence of House culture as a movement of resilience, built on the belief that music and dance can dismantle barriers and heal communities. She leads every dancefloor from the heart, with emotion, energy, and togetherness at its core.

In her seamless mixes, the mood effortlessly shifts—from stripped-down, raw, and unapologetic jacking grooves to warmer percussive layers and vocal-driven energy with emotional resonance, then deeper into a cerebral aesthetic rich with synthesizer textures and soulful, machine-driven rhythms. Kléo celebrates the heritage of House while constantly digging for modern cuts, balancing the past and present with effortless sophistication.
Kléo embodies the essence of being here—now, fully present in the music, guiding the dancefloor with spontaneity and poise through moments of ecstatic release and deep, immersive flow—one lifting you higher, the other pulling you deeper.

In recent years, Kléo has expanded her artistry beyond DJing to music producer, record label owner, and event promoter. In early 2024, she launched her label Call 4 Rhythm, debuting with her first self-produced single, Agogo. True to the spirit of her DJ sets, the release is an invitation to let go and dial in. Across Agogo and her upcoming second release, Acid Coolada, Kléo reaffirms her commitment to House music’s ethos, blending squelchy TB-303 acid licks, jazz-tinged chords, interstellar synths, and sleek, soulful drum machines. The result is both rugged and authentic—a dancefloor affair infused with the spirit of honesty, the foundation of all her artistic endeavours.

At the end of 2024, she launched the Call 4 Rhythm party series, a natural extension of her vision. “Call 4 Rhythm is committed to creating a home where everyone feels safe, valued, and free to be their authentic selves. Here, we foster love, respect, and unity—because together, we thrive.”
In an era where inclusivity in club culture is more vital than ever, her mission is clear: advocating for love and acceptance by creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, and empowered.

Beyond the dancefloor, Kléo is a core member of the Rush Hour store crew and a resident on Kiosk Radio, where she hosts In-House, a monthly show dedicated to her current selections.

Though her roots may lie in intimate dancefloors, Kléo is no stranger to big stages. She has graced iconic clubs like Panorama Bar, De School, OHM, berlinClub, 20/44, and Peti Kupe, as well as major festivals such as Dekmantel, Selectors, ADE, Lost Village, DGTL, and LOVEFEST. Regardless of the venue, her ethos remains unchanged: connection with the crowd is everything.

As the great Larry Heard once asked, “Can you feel it?” When Kléo is at the decks, the answer is always a resounding yes.

Rainer Trueby’s brand new 3 solo single! After releasing his smashing solo debut on Compost Black Label (Livin In The Music / Es Lo Que Pasa / Hirtenruf) and doing “Schoko Bolla”, an all-night jam session (and an amazing free download and gift for all fans out there) he is back again teaming up with Danilo Plessow (Motor City Drum Ensemble). Funny, both Motor City Drum Ensemble and Rainer Trueby (as Trueby Trio - together with Roland Appel and Christian Prommer) have compiled a DJ Kicks.  
 
With its perfectly chosen post garage appeal „Jeck“ sets you in the mood for doing nearly everything and honours the slower, more subtly grooves in a very significant way. Reminds a bit to the early Nineties Nu-Groove Sound from NYC. Especially when the bombastic kick combines with the more jazzy, laid back keys. 
And when you realize that Trueby speaks (and sings) all of his vocals himself, you know that there’s the whole package! The record contains a further track “Welcome To Our World”, which is as moody as hell! Sit back and relax! Last but not least the 12inch includes a kick-ass Marcus Worgull’s remix.  
Marcus Worgull is one of the top addresses for deep house releases on labels like Sonar Kollektiv, Dixon and Amé ́s Innervisions and remixes like Farside Records, Running Back, Lovemonk or DFA.  
 
Rainer Trueby was born in Stuttgart on 20.08.1971. He was raised in the Neckardelta, a prosperous economic region along the river Neckar. He is catholic and goes to church on christmas. His first DJ experience was in an old people’s home (Arbeiterwohlfahrt) in Stuttgart in 1990 where Rainer was the host of tuesday 
afternoon’s teadance, developping a feeling how to rock an elderly but open-minded crowd (65+) with classics like "Es gibt kein Bier auf Hawaii". After having that DJing experience, Ali & Basti Tiefschwarz gave Rainer a sunday night residency @ their ON-U club in Stuttgart where the motto was "all things nice" ranging from Soul 
Funk Jazz to Hip Hop and Talkin Loud stuff. In 1993 Rainer met Compost head honcho Michael Reinboth. 
After some 12"s with A Forest Mighty Black and some compilations ("Glücklich") he teamed up with Christian Prommer and Roland Appel to form the Trueby Trio. Some 12s, one album ("Elevator Music"), one remix album ("Retreated") and numerous remixes followed. His club residency Root Down @ Waldsee / Freiburg is 15 years old now. He likes to play chess with Michael Reinboth. He likes a glass of wine as well. A decent meal too.
