Rhythm knows no borders to Argentine Ernesto Ferreyra, whose exotic musical journey got a head start as a 13-year-old radio DJ in his hometown of Córdoba. He’s since consistently sought out sonic enlightenment, initially moving to Mexico City, where he was schooled in production before relocating to Montréal, drawn by the city’s vibrant electronic scene and MUTEK’s talented local stable – namely Guillaume Coutu Dumont, with whom he has recorded and performed jazz infused micro-house under the Chic Miniature moniker. His intricate approach to recording and DJing, at the confluence of Latin grooves and taut Northern minimalism, attracted the interest of Cadenza boss and tech-house mentor Luciano, who invited him to release material on his heavyweight label – including his percussively funky debut, El Paraíso De Las Tortugas (2010). Since setting up shop in the epicentre of electronic potency that is Berlin, Ferreyra has also ferociously globetrotted his way through the planet’s most iconic venues, frenetic basslines in tow. After last gracing the MUTEK stage in 2009 for Cynosure’s 10th anniversary showcase, Ferreyra appeared here at EM15 spreading his luminous techno thrills at Piknic on June 1, 2014

MOED is a very special selection of obscure edits, a side project from MOM, based in Barcelona.
The idea of this “DJ USE ONLY” material comes from Da Silva, an undercover label partner and a great collector, who made one of the edits. This EP also features well known producers like Jimi Bazzouka aka Joakim and Pedro Vian, the label owner.
Obscure Edits Volume 1 has a distinct 1980s feel, with each editor breathing new life into their chosen track. The first edit on the EP is PV’s edit Live In Japan. It features powerful synths, tight percussion and as you might expect, Japanese vocals. Next up is Da Silva’s version of My Man. This edit sees layered synths and a bassline provide a wonderful groove, where they are joined by heartbroken vocals. Finally, we have Jimi Bazzouka aka Joakim’s take on Somerset Hills. Here, a playful flute with an eastern feel is laid over strong keys and adaptable percussion. This is a strong selection of edits, which are ready for the dancefloor.

There was a prominent sense of urgency as the room began to fill with the dancers and skater types. They moved in amongst one another whilst weaving in time with the mysterious bang of the drum. This was a club rush and it would soon fill the very street outside itself as people congregated from far and wide. Those lucky enough to be inside would stay until the small hours and lose themselves beneath the bounce of percussion and the melodic euphoria which spiralled into the night. 

Hayes & Zeitgeist are set to release an EP on Moonshoe, a melodic affair with a distinguished hint of class and professionalism. This one is warm and a delight to the ears.

The Berlin-based Suol are now on their third summer compilation. Here's the contribution from the prolific Tuff City Kids - another fine production to add to their catalogue. Suitably summery but not kitsch!

The compilation is part of their Hallo Montag series that runs alongside their Monday party at IPSE Berlin, with a new track from the compilation released each week.

For ØEN Records 13th release, "En Anden" steps up with his debut EP release. En Anden is the output of the Copenhagen based DJ, Lazer (@lazert). Wanting to express a simplistic and naive sound, he has taken inspiration from Italo Disco's quirky synthesizer themes and 90's house tight drum and stripped-down productions. With the EP "Ting", En Anden perfects the subtle art of making tracks, where everything stand still, but is still evolving with small waves, connotations and intermissions. The EP is rounded off with a remix by local talent DJ Popup (@why_u_poppin) and released digitally with a limited edition poster made by TLS
