Turnstyle are release their first album in 13 years “time equals function” on December 4 2015 on Igloo Records. The album marches through familiar and undiscovered sonic lands, loaded with fuzzing guitars, buzzing synths, Casio chords and shouty vocals.

Fast Wash

Turnstyle's third album, and the first in 13 years, Time Equals Function marches through old and new sonic lands. As to be expected from a Turnstyle release no matter what the decade, it’s loaded with fuzzy distortion, Casio chords, shouting vocals and vintage recording tricks. 

Returning from an extended hiatus, Turnstyle immediately began creating new music soon after two high profile shows in 2013. They reignited their unique creative wizardry to record Time EqualsFunction - 12 new Turnstyle songs recorded throughout 2014/15. Losing none of their DIY aesthetic honed in the 4-track era, the band recorded and self-produced the album. Turnstyle then turned to Andy Ramsay (of Stereolab) to apply his armoury of analogue tools, mixing and mastering the album at Press Play Studio in London.

Sir History starts the album, Happy Factories, deceivingly low key before it explodes into a riff that Cheap Trick would trade their teeth for.
