Apparently recorded on an undercover cassette player (yuk!! but with thanks to whoever) by an unknown member of the audience at a busy Doozoot gig around 1990 at the Worlds's End PH, Mulbarton, Norwich, UK. As raw and rough as it gets but seems appropriate to put this up in memory of John Tuddenham (bass) and Pete Hunter (drums). With respect, love and RIP to both. One of my favourite ever performing moments which never fails to hit the spot on personal sadness and pure magic despite the technical issues. My absolute pleasure and pride to have worked and shared the same stage with Ian Gosling for many years. Drastically edited and shortened version taking out digital distortion as best possible whilst retaining part of Ian's superb performance using a Fender Telecaster on this occasion. Live, open air gig approx 1996 @ R&M International annual party, Rami Manor, Lenwade, Norfolk. R&B Allstars were reformed for basically this one off gig. Line up was: Ian Gosling: Guitar(RIP), John Tuttle: Vocals, Saxes, Martin Shearing: Bass, Darren Tuttle: Drums, Wayne Potter: Keyboards, Matt Emerson: Trumpet, Spike Emmerson: Trombone, Karen Lord: Saxes, Mark Antony: Percussion and Vocals. I revamped the dynamics of this song using Audacity only (07/12/14)as it was one of my personal least favourite studio vocal performances and only ever given justice at live gigs. Given that this song was recorded in approx 1976 and ended up as the 'B' side of our single 'Only You' I feel it now sits as best possible. This is one of the most enduring John Brunning songs in the Boy Bastin songbook and remains one of my personal favourites. To those that have heard the song previously I hope you like the latest dynamics and some slight errors removed. All of the Bastin tracks within my 'Tuttello' and 'Tuttello2' soundcloud folders are generated from aged cassette recordings and I have tried to pull the best from them digitally some 40 years later. Recording taken at Rackheath Village Hall November 1986 of John Tuttle in cabaret with Accent Band. Very impromptu recording with cassette player placed on the stage hence low quality sound. Nevertheless a great night and audience and fond memories of songs and musical performances with a great bunch of guys. Happy memories shared with those who may recall Sundays at the Salhouse Lodge when Tom Farrell was in charge.
