September Embers iii

This was one of my first recording projects, kind of a homework assignment to learn all the steps of recording and mixing. I think everyone was heavy into Al Green during the late 90s thanks to Pulp Fiction, at least I was. Using a borrowed Roland VS-880EX and microphones, I produced this session at a friends house in  1998.

Smokey basement jam with Danny Brown 1995 Lansing, MI. I programmed a beat and the "soul claw" on the Ensoniq synth, then Danny sang and rapped and I played some lead synth lines. Hoo-boy.

In 2002, during the production of Jason Molin's first record "J", I made this collage from poems, readings, tracks in progress and sounds around Jason's studio that were deposited on the 8 track tape machine.
