This is a murky live recording from a gig we did in 2014 at Fitzherberts in Brighton. It was the first time we'd played this song live. The gig was on Halloween (hence the introduction!)

Gone From Me

Just before 5pm on the 15th of September 1916, the 21st London regiment (1st Surrey Rifles) moved up past High Wood to attack a German defensive line known to Commonwealth troops as 'Starfish Trench'. The battalion numbered 550 men and 19 officers. The next day when the company roll was called, only 2 officers and 60 men remained to answer it.
